As a 215 average tenpin bowler, I sometimes watch videos of these tournaments and think "Wow, these pros can only get up to the 140s consistently. Maybe I could give it a shot and get close to that level!" Then I see strings like the first one here and think "Wow, neither pro could get more than one mark. This sport must be absolutely brutal. I wouldn't have a chance at breaking 100!"

It's still a difficult game but back then scoring was much lower.

@@kylebertulli4435 I disagree back then there were plenty of 130 to 140 average bowlers now it hard to find any with more that 125-130ish any average more then that is godly nowadays

How are they using lanes 2 and 3? Doesn't 1 have a ball return?
@Nlangkirby135 Жыл бұрын
It does... however the bowlers have to transfer all three balls from one ball return to the other... or double the amount of balls.

I've actually wondered the same thing about how odd it is some alleys have a ball return for just lane 1. I've never seen one like that in person, Bayberry in Spencer, Colonial in Worcester, Thunderbird in Auburn, all standard ball returns between lanes 1 and 2, and all the other places I went to years ago for state tournaments, never saw that there either. Someone wasn't too bright when designing the setup here.

Hey Don, this is true about pronunciation, except if you went to the school of pronunciation like another host (including when your pronunciation doesn't even look like the word) and you say WO-burn Bowladrome, Steve VadNAY, Dave DuPREE, Fred SPRINT-ig, Dave Chester-CARE, Scott CLAY-ton, etc.

Speaking of pronounciations... the Town of Worcester isn't Wor-sest-er nor Wor-che-ster but, Wu-ster.

Don't forget that Don Gillis is originally from Nova Scotia, particularly the Northeastern Mainland Nova Scotia and Cape Breton Island area where most residents are mainly Scottish descent. Therefore, Don Gillis' pronunciations are actually in line with Atlantic Canadian English, notably Canadian Maritimer and Nova Scotian variations. I'm originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia now living in Newfoundland, so I know that Gillis' accent is similar to mine.
