Spoilers for those who have not read the Halloween Ends novel. The novel suggests that Michael may be a cannibal. When he is hiding in an abandoned factory, he eats animals (reminiscent of his dog-eating days); however, when in the sewers, the homeless man living near it, who is named Nelson Christopher (if you know, you know), thinks of Michael as a “god” and brings him victims for his “hunger.” Michael takes them and we soon learn that some of the bones are "stripped clean,” and other bones still have hair and such.

I like to think he goes in to a sort of catatonic state similar to how we seen him in the beginning of 2018, just standing still, all tense and deep in his thoughts. The evil was contained then but in Ends he's badly wounded so I think he found a quiet place in the sewers to go back into a sort of hibernation living off rats and possibly bits of food the homeless man brings him.

Considering that the first film has Michael killing and eating a dog, the most likely scenario is that he has been subsisting on rats rather than people. An old man in his late sixties living like this in a sewer for four years is the reason why you see him in some certain scenes faltering because he's breaking down. Hence why it wasn't all that hard for Laurie killing Michael: he was already dying.

I watched it 5 times trying to find some redeeming qualities but I just can't. They dumbed down Laurie and outright disrespected Michael. They could have made Corey a replacement for Cameron and may teaming with Laurie and Alyson to clear his name. He's a good character just used wrong. This should have been a no holds barred battle with Michael and Laurie. Soooo disappointed. They kneecapped thier own trilogy. Great video Barry!!

It's pretty simple Loomis was wrong he wasn't evil on two legs he was human we learn about Myers through Corey...Corey was always evil just like Myers it just manifested later he meant to kill that lil boy...we get answers through Corey the radio tower his need to kill making him get out of bed with a woman....the old man sells cans for money likely for food for him and Myers....Laurie had to put on a facade of happiness for her now orphaned granddaughter ,you see the real her come out at the end....and yes you have to THINK for this movies.....they show you the rats also which is a better theory than the cannibal plus they show you he has a way out with stairs and a manhole i.e. he goes out at night and the old man helps Myers NOT because he looked into his eyes....he's just a crazy old man Myers isn't passing something along he just happened to run into a crazy old man who helps him and later Corey who finally embraces HIS evil side he tells Alyson stories that sound just like Myers as a child that we learn in Halloween kills staring at the tower what it meant....again,we learn about Myers through Corey instead of Myers directly because that would break the mystique

I like the fact that you mentioned that it's up to our interpretations of how Michael survives. I like to think that the old man was bringing him food to eat. A better question is who is that old man? He's obviously old enough to have been around for the original kill when Michael was a boy. But who was he in Haddonfield? He wasn't always just some homeless guy and like you said he knew who Michael Myers was by name. Maybe he knew Michael as a boy. Remember that cop in H:Kills said he knew Michael when they were kids.

According to the novelization, the homeless man (Nelson Christopher) is his sort of caretaker. He was in Smith’s Grove w Michael and escaped in 2018 when the bus crashed. The homeless man would lure people down into the sewers for Michael to kill and eat. The whole “I’m Michael Myers” thing is explained too.

I think Michael went from place to place and moved on every so often. He probably stayed in places for a few weeks maybe months before moving on. His most recent place was the sewer where we eventually find him. In the lore he went and broke into houses to grab supplies and food and when in need of medical supplies as seen in Halloween kills. we know he can do it extremely silently from Halloween kills. but in this timeline I doubt he’d do that as often. He’d probably feed of stray animals and wildlife that dwells in the sewers

I don't believe Ends works for many reasons, chiefly, because it makes a point to demystify Michael. Up to this point, the franchise has done a lot to suggest that Michael is a supernatural being, devoid of humanity in both the physical and emotional sense. Kills spends most of the movie doing this. Then Ends comes in and reduces Michael to just some guy. The introduction of Corey is a whole nest of problems in itself, and the implication that he and Michael are comparable in terms of their capabilities and capacity for evil doesn't feel earned. Laurie remarks in Kills that no mere man can endure what Michael has, but he is attacked by Corey and pretty readily defeated by Laurie. It's like the Michael in Kills and the one in Ends aren't the same person. I'm ranting, but Ends fails because it nerfs Michael in the final outing, when he should be at his most powerful and dangerous.

I don’t think that it’s in contradiction, though. I think Michael is - without a doubt - not a “regular” human. He’s impossibly strong, impossibly durable, impossibly stoic, etc. Michael is superhuman (which probably also qualifies as ‘supernatural’ but people have a particular idea of that word.) That said, being superhuman/supernatural doesn’t mean that he is without limits. He aged a lot; he was severely injured; he wasn’t able to care for his wounds, health, etc. So, I don’t think that him eventually being weakened and dying inherently contradicts that… Nearly all fictional characters have weaknesses or limits. Most of the time, when a supernatural character magically rejuvenates (like Jason Voorhees or a comic book villain) it’s just due to lazy writing and lack of continuity.

I think it shows he needs to kill to keep his strength aka his more he kills Laurie talked about in Kills. He stabs Mulaney and he starts shaking and gaining strength. I think he was dying honestly and looked to pass on his evil and seen Corey as the most capable. The others not so much so he just killed them. How they got there I would say the people somehow ended up there. I dont think literally anyone seen Michael initially when Corey is thrown over as most sites that spoilers came from said an unknown figure.

It would have been much better if they just left MM out of Ends altogether than to have gone with this lazy writing of him living in sewer pipe. 2018, he escapes and goes where? Haddonfield. To return to his home. What does he do in Kills? Goes to his home, the Myers house. "The night He came home"..the entire premise that was used from '78 to Kills. Young Michael is seen in Judith's room. He magically appeared in Judith's room to kill Karen. The entire mythical connection to the Myers house and Judith's room, dropped entirely. Does he disappear into the night as a mystical creature? Nope. He somehow is supposed to have survived living in a sewer without anyone from the town ever seeing him. No search parties canvass the area after the murdering spree in Kills. He somehow eats well enough (without being seen) and survives four winters (Illinois has full on winters, temps below zero) with just coveralls and a latex mask. People freeze to death in Chicago every year that don't go to a homeless shelter. To me, it is annoyingly lazy and demeaning to those who saw H'18 and Kills only to be subjected to this nonsense. Cory's story, fine. I'm all about the anthology approach.

Very interesting video and subject. On the one hand, we know from past films that Michael has killed and eaten animals, such as dogs (which seems to be his favorite), so it wouldn't be surprising that he might take to eating humans as well, especially since, in the case of the dogs, Michael doesn't appear to either have the knowledge or desire to cook; he always ate the animals raw. On the other, Michael is weak by Ends, so if he is being provided food by the elderly homeless man, perhaps from his dumpster raids, the food, while keeping Michael alive, is likely not of dietary value, such as discarded candy, as well as any meat products that might have become tainted. So, we know he eats, and he is obviously sustained by whatever he makes into a dinner or snack, but by Ends, and even while perhaps still suffering the beatdown he got in Kills, it's not likely that whatever he consumes has actually helped him in the past 4 years.
