The reason for the dud against the corvette is you did maintenance on tubes 1 and 4, but fired 1 and 3 meaning tube 3 wasn't maintained.

You can see a check mark on the torpedo tube before he floods it, that check means it was still maintained

Agent Mission. Another great episode Wolfpack345 !!! I can't imagine the difficulty involved in shooting a torpedo at night in those sea conditions. At least you will have better results than the early american subs with the tricky torpedoes they used with such a high dud rate they had.

Do the land the agent mission. It's a long trip from Wihelmshaven to northern Ireland. Who says you can't sink a few ships on the way, eh? BTW, pulled out all the stops to get reputation in my current playthrough, actually managed to land access to the T5 in April, 1940 (sadly too late to affect the Norwegian Campaign - a real pain and wasn't able to complete on time, requiring 6 objectives met). The T5 has been a serious game changer, since it's a homing torpedo.

Ventry Bay is not in Northern Ireland. Ventry beach is in County Kerry on the southern side of the Dingle Peninsula in the South-west of the Irish Republic. I've walked along that beach when I holidayed in County Kerry in 2003.

If you are attacking at night, try to have the moon on the opposite side of the convoy. If there is no moon get downwind of the convoy. These things can help decrease visibility

Maybe you should use the Mod "Tubes Ready". It changes the time spent to load and maintain Torpedoes, also the "maintained status" stays longer. Feels way more realistic with the mod.

Tube V: changed the torpedo's speed and didn't correct the target's speed in the TDC aaaaaaah! I pulled my hair seeing this. But even with the most experienced captains it happens. Sometime I just set a good AoB but on port side instead of starboard for instance but luckily hit another ship in the convoy. What they really need to implement with the rear torpedo tube though, is making the valves functional because it always require the UI for this one.

Look forward to see you in U-boats in the Caribbean, the soft underbelly of the United States... After all, in RL, they almost won there... as the U-boats there were very close to bringing the USA to it's knees; by starving it off it's raw materials out of S-America, being used for tanks and airplanes manufacturing!! The reason the US build so many airfields around the Caribbean Sea was purely because of the U-boat threat! The USA were desperately trying, and eventually succeeding, in stopping the U-boats from dominating that sea.

Just curious. Why didnt you submerge while trying to estimate the speed of the corvette. Was it to shallow? Would they detect you somehow if you did? Probably missed something. Anyway, again great video :)

I don't think the Type XXI has been released in UBOAT yet. You can only get from the Type IIA to the Type VIIC so far. Type IX is the next one on the devs plans.

The problem is that warships don't count for tonnage totals. It'd be hard to progress the campaign as a result.

It's mostly for achievements. That said aircraft carriers do deploy aircrafts and patrols ahead of convoys or when attacked which is interesting.

You won't have any trouble running it on windows 10. The most common issue people have with U-boat is the amount of memory the game uses at any given time. I'd recommend at least 16gb of ddr4 or newer. 32gb if you are still running ddr3.

@@SighNaps 32 Gb of DDR4 doesn't hurt either. In fact there are some reasons to run 64 Gb of DDR5 in this age for various reasons but for Uboat it would be a tad overkill, the game is more or less well optimized now.
