I like the truck den in LR for one reason: Put your meat chunks/ungulates in the back of the truck. This prevents your mate from eating your food. You can easily just climb/jump up. Thanks for the hex tips, great vid :>

I've learned that a lot of players actually didn't know about that one! That's why I mentioned it, it does help me and my friends a lot when any of us are at the den defending the pups in accurate multiplayer. xD But it does seriously need to be talked about more, it's really helpful for catching predators lol. Glad I could help!
@turtal259510 ай бұрын
also does good to check in scent view while at the den, oftentimes if the preds arent smart youll smell them before they attack, but if you dont then you'll know the direction from which theyll approach. AND another one, ALWAYS remain at the den, beside the pups when you woof them in. sometimes they panic and sometimes they try to take on the preds themselves (depends on personality, i always have energetic bold pups) so make sure to watch them go in and keep check on the den so that they dont wander out. lost a pup to a pred for the first time simply cause it wandered out as I was killing one of the pack wolves
@Kayuai10 ай бұрын
Yes! I love your input! Thanks a bunch! I did forget to mention about pup personality in the video, I also do have a lot of bold, social, and energetic pups as well in singleplayer due to all my wolves having that maxed out and me being picky with my mates. And I have had multiple pups leave the den during attacks at the same time. I usually don't play wolves that have Elder Authority, but to prevent bold pups from leaving the den, I usually continuously woof, and they always stay inside the den whenever I do so! :)
@turtal259510 ай бұрын
@@Kayuai exactly, i was so used to elder authority so when my elder wolf finally passed, I completely forgot about the scent and the health view, as well as the authority and just let my pups wander right out into danger, im HIGHLY picky with my mates and love me a good Energetic bold loner, but boy are the pups a pain to work with.. once theyre at 15 pounds though you can just keep them hidden 24/7 and just keep the pack affinity high, works like a charm! but honestly, just constantly woofing is a godsent

@@turtal2595 Do you have any tips on how to know if a dispersal wolf is a bold energetic loner? I've watched a few videos, but I still struggle identifying them :(
@turtal25958 ай бұрын
@@TheDeadRat69 There's no definitive way to be sure, its like a gut feeling of sorts that you'll get used to, just keep an eye on how much they interact with you initially and I'll make a few points in Paragraphs Energetic: In my experience, the most energetic wolves usually run around during and after courtship. they may sit but will get up and walk around immediately after Bold: In trial you can go up to a moose and attack it, see how many times they'll help attack it, or get them low on health (50-60%) and attack some elk, if you think the amount of attacks they do is satisfying then thats good enough. Loner: This one's the hardest, but during trial watch for how many times they snatch a meat chunk from the carcass regardless of hunger, and watch the distance they keep from you. If they initiate interactions (tail wag, play bow, tail up confident, howl, etc etc) then they're likely more on the social side, whereas if they keep away and just do their own thing they're loners Thats about as much as i can give you, the rest is a luck and guessing game. Sometimes the bold energetic loner mates just dont spawn and you have to retry again, or just go with a bold energetic social or cautious energetic loner mate, never want a lazy one though, they dont have any benefits

Another hunting trick is that you CAN exhaust them! I had a pack that hunted a lot of mule deer because that wolf had low health and a small litter, and when I was on low health and didn't want to risk getting even more hurt, I'd chase the deer until they were exhausted and couldn't bounce anymore- Once they're weak like that they do very little damage! (I would also herd them to keep them in my territory by running alongside them and growling)
@thespuddypotato4 ай бұрын
Thiisss I never hunted mule deer for ages because it was just so annoying trying to catch up all the time. Started doing this a few weeks ago and it's been the easiest way to get food since
@MyDadLeftMeForMyWife4 ай бұрын
this is my strategy for elk hunting. I chase the herd until they’re tired, usually in my case that’s when the elk start to fall over due to lack of stamina. Then I go in and bite the neck and hold on for as long as I can. Usually the elk is at half health by this point, or 1/4 if it’s a calf. Then it’s just a matter of running alongside it and biting the flank and neck if I can. I almost never go for the legs. Another thing to keep track of is how much damage you’re doing versus how much you’re taking. I never bite the legs because I always take more damage than the damage I’m dealing to the elk. Hope this helps anyone reading my essay 😭

@@thespuddypotato XD yeah I can relate, mule deer are so fast I hate it. But since I have a fast wolf, I can catch up. I recommend giving ur wolf +1 speed and then get a speed perk so u have +2 speed, though I actually gave mine +2 speed and then the perk. ( ur choice tho XD)

One thing you missed is when hunting ungulate and mother. Kill the mother next to the bush of her child and kill the child also. Also not just for accurate but at all for the game I invented this trick: when you have food you can pick up at den/rendezvous site and there is a rock put the food as close to the rock as possible, that way only you or your pups can access and your mate doesn’t eat your children’s food.

@Kayuai10 ай бұрын
Personally I think whatever stats that you prefer can work with accurate. Every person who plays on accurate a lot has a preference when it comes to their stats, but I'm sure you can make anything work. For me, I just usually have negative strength and positive health. I've found that having a high health bar does help doing a lot of damage. Even if I have -2 strength, it doesn't really seem like too much of a problem at least for me to have bad strength. The lower your health gets, the less damage you do when biting just about anything. I'm kind of an impatient hunter though so I'm a bit careless when hunting on accurate which ends up having my health bar low. xD

Stamina is the best imo because it impacts your mobility and strength. Even if you have low speed (better to not make it low tho) u can sprint longer, bite longer, and the more stamina u have, the more strength. I usually do -2 health as I play cautiously and dont feel like I need it, and +2 stamina. Imo increasing speed is not important but decreasing it is bad as it can become difficult or impossible to keep up with a herd and especially deer if you cant find elk.

I never manage to get a mate that goes off to mark territory 🥺 Any key signs when selecting mates i should be looking for to know they will be a mate that'd help out like that?
@Kayuai6 ай бұрын
That sounds like you're looking for a mate with an energetic and loner personality. Energetic mates tend to help out a lot with pups, hunting, marking, etc. Pay attention to the dispersals that run around a lot, the more they run around they more likely they are energetic. That's the biggest giveaway for an energetic dispersal. As for loners, I do have mates that are social that still do go out and mark but loners are more inclined to go out alone. Loners tend to not howl, or they don't do many social emotes during the courtship arena. So you can also pay attention to dispersals that tend to walk away for a bit; most loner dispersals don't tend to interact that much. If you choose a social mate, that can be fine as well but social mates tend to want to stick with you and are more inclined to starve themselves just to stay with you. I've had social mates still leave the den but they usually whine at me first to tell me to go with them but even if you don't go with mates when they whine at you, they still leave to go hunting or marking on their own. So overall, just look for dispersals that run around frequently but also stray away from other wolves or yourself during courtship. The less they emote, howl, and isolate themselves the more likely they are to be a loner. The more they run around the more energetic they are.

What would you say are the best physical attributes for hunting? Right now I prioritize speed bc my wolf is 4 years old with -2 speed, and I thought health was useless, but I saw in the video that you said health helps. Thanks!
@Kayuai8 ай бұрын
For like the first episode of the game (hunting and finding a mate), I would say that stamina is pretty crucial. Elk don't turn around when you approach them unlike early spring. Elk don't really show signs of weakness in the fall. I just bite around; seeing if maybe any elk are around half-health. It would probably be the weakest you find. If I were you I'd do something like positive stamina and health. Other accurate players I know prefer positive strength but I personally notice how I stop doing a lot of damage to prey once my health gets low, so I always have high health if I'm going to hunt. You stop doing a lot of damage when your health reaches maybe around 50-60% so just be careful. But primarily I either always have + speed or + health when I play accurate pups, and I don't usually have much of a problem. Stamina isn't much of a problem in early spring since when you chase the elk herd, the weaker elk do just turn around and start fighting back, you can just let them stand there while you regain stamina. :) For hunting generally? I would say positive stamina and health is best. But it depends on what you're going to be hunting primarily. If it's something like a moose then you're probably gonna need strength- For elk it's best you have stamina and health and always bite the neck if you can.

Yep, hexes tend to drain faster the higher the difficulty is. Dev's did mention that somewhere in patch notes a long while ago. It should be easy going around and marking though, you might find stranger wolves but as long as they're in your territory they don't put up too much of a fight. I usually growl at them but if they don't run then that's when I bite.

TIPS TO PRIORITIZE *YOUR OWN* SURVIVAL When playing on Accurate, I DON'T protect pups when a bear, cougar or grand number of wolves attacks the den. I will only woof them into the den ans try to evade taking damage. Don't waste your time with sick pups, as Accurate has about 20% chance they will recover anyway. Give up on hunts if your health gets 50% or lower. In case you get attacked, prioritize your safety. Run away or fight for yourself, leave your mate, I don't know. Conclusion; your mate and pups don't matter that much. You can always have more pups next year and can always get a new mate.
@yogarlonghorn90488 ай бұрын
But isn't the whole point to make sure that all of your pups stay alive? 🤔 I know there's different play styles but the main point of the game is to make sure all pups make it, yes there's the occasional loss but still. Accurate is made to be difficult cause it's supposed to resemble real life. It's really about being tactical and really thinking about what you hunt and do for the survival of your pups. If you're always backing out of a hunt once you reach 50 health then there's the chance you've lost the opportunity to feed you're pups. This is all really just tips and tricks to look out for making sure most of your pups survive and what to look out for not so much Your own survival. (Yes it's still good to keep in mind of your own health, stats and injuries along with your mates but still. Base Line is to make sure every pup makes it)

😟 how are you going to eat that way? You’re going to have to scavenge off of carcasses if you want to eat anything. Your pups are going to die from predator attacks. Pups don’t go into the den immediately, usually they scatter around frantically. You can’t evade damage and try and woof your pups into the den at the same time because the predators will come for YOU if you’re next to the pups. Idk how you survive if at all but if it works for you then it works :’)
