I love the finished look of this potion, love the color. Tip: Add the gel and color to a small plastic zip top bag and squish it around to mix, then cut off a bottom corner and "pipe" the mixture into the bottles.

There is an actual plant called wolfsbane so perhaps you could do an ingredient jar with it as an ingredient for making the potion
@CookingandCraftChick8 жыл бұрын
+Mystic Panda I may do that in the future, thanks for the suggestion!
@nina_love70337 жыл бұрын
Neko Ashes what do you suggest putting in for ingredients?!
@ashesnight90277 жыл бұрын
I'd put wolfbane, snake fangs (you can find replicas or actual bones), sugar, powdered silver (small amounts, use glitter possibly), valerian root, crushed moonstone, moonseed (also called yellow parilla), dittany, wasp stingers (dried billywig substitute), finally oregano (subsitute for common ingredient)

Wow, looks amazing. Next time put the mix into an icing dispenser or a sandwich baggie, snip the tip and the solution mix will go right into the bottle exactly how you want it. Tip from a Crafty Nerd.

Love your process! Your video is very well done and easy to follow. To clear up some confusion, the potion isn't blue due to the color of the plant flowers (they are purple, not blue) and when brewed correctly it emits blue smoke, not green. The book doesn't go into exact details on the potion coloring, so it's assumed that because it emits blue smoke when brewed, the potion is blue as well.

Suggestion: Mix in a food bag or piping bag, just squeeze the bag, and then cut a hole to "decant" to the bottle.
@CookingandCraftChick6 күн бұрын
@@helenwright6840 yes, I definitely do that now. This is one of the first bottles I ever made years ago and I never thought of using a piping bag then. Thank you for the suggestion 😊

@CookingandCraftChick Ty. I recently found your channel and the years of growing experience show as I've gone through. I left the suggestion for people who watch this. Like you, I love to bake, and layer desserts with piping bags :) Anyway, ty for your videos. I've just made my first potion from a list of your videos for my Halloween display and look forward to some fascinated children this year 🙂

Would using resin for this project instead of styling gel work? Because I want to be able to open the bottles
@CookingandCraftChick7 жыл бұрын
+Amber Farrell it should, you might have to mix the glow paint with the resin too, so it dries properly for you. Hope that helps thanks for watching!

How long did it last until the colors mixed up? How does the glowpaint react to the gel over time?
@CookingandCraftChick5 жыл бұрын
message in a bottle the clear took on some of the blue, but the glow paint looks the same and still glows, and the glitter glue is still good. The bottle essentially looks the same, except for about 1/8” of evaporation. Which I don’t think is too bad considering it’s about 3 years old. I hope that helps, thanks for watching!😊

where did you get your labels? Love your videos and am making one for a gift:)
@CookingandCraftChick8 жыл бұрын
I get my labels by just googling "potion bottle labels" and go to images you can find hundreds of free images. If you google "Harry Potter potion labels" or the specific label you are looking for they pop up. I would put a link to the label sheet I used but they are not my images and I don't want to get flagged. I am sure whoever you are making the gift for will love it!

why are you using styling gel and not clear glue. Is there a reason behind it? :P
@CookingandCraftChick7 жыл бұрын
+Rene Mlf I tried the clear glue. It does not dry because you are basically putting it in an airtight container. The glitter or other paint etc does not stay suspended in the glue it all settles to the bottom. 👎 I use the gel because of its suspension qualities and its affordability. Hope that helps. FYI I made most of these is August and September and they look exactly the same today as when I made them. 😊 thanks for watching!
