Ah about time there was an offering from Hardy, that was a beautiful camp and location . Hearing the peregrine falcon and Johnny Weissmuller just brilliant. Camera worked a treat , I have the 15 and it’s just fine for my needs . The mat in my opinion works great for 3 seasons , packs small and is comfy if not over inflated. Let’s not wait as long for the next one 😎 atb Dave

Hi Hardy, hope you're well pal. Wow! where to begin. What an excellent production. Great cinematography,stunning location and a wealth of information especially as I'm currently looking for both a new pad and thinking of investing in my first pump. Best of all as a former falconer and owner of a Peregrine falcon it was great to hear one calling in your video. I instantly recognised the familiar call. Well done sir! A big thumbs up from me.👍👍

Great video and stunning scenery. As for the thermarest, to be honest most of my 50+ years of wild camping I've used simple inflatable lilos (the sort of thing you find used in swimming pools etc) and found them to be more comfortable than any sleep pads out there including thermarest. The reasons are they are usually thicker (in height terms) and have a large built-in pillow. Now i wont claim they provide as much insulation as other pads but I've never found that an issue even in Sweden. You can buy a basic one for under £5 and no need to buy a seperate pillow either. I spend what i save on a decent sleeping bag instead. As for the air pumps 😆, why would anyone who is fit and healthy enough to hike uphill and down dale with all their gear on their back need a pump to pump up a mattress holding just a few litres of air??? The mind boggles! 😅😅👍
@HardyTempestsWildCampsandWalks Жыл бұрын
That’s a good point on the mats, when I first started years ago I did something similar. As to the pumps, I’m going back to the inflation sack. I’ve had a few mat failures and put it down to the pump being too powerful for the mat. Thanks for commenting . All the best. Hardy
@JBwhattodo Жыл бұрын
Excellent footage, funny dialogue iPhone camera looks very impressive. The new pump was totally unnecessary they had just done a good upgrade on the previous model so should have let that sell itself. This version is like a prototype that is still in the ideas department, I needed to get that off my chest apologies for the rant! 🍄

Really impressive camera phone Tarzan :) much better than Gopro, the white balance did wander a bit though but nothing too bad. I've got a 10 year old Neo air that has punctured once and I fixed it with super glue! When it was new it was very noisy but now it's old and well used it's as quiet as a church mouse.
