The the line "you weren't built for fighting" is very interesting. If you consider the headcanon that Techno is a piglin, piglins are normally aggressive. They are built for fighting. Where as with Ranboo, he's part enderman and they are normally passive mobs. They only attack when aggravated. Which leads perfectly into the next line, "but that doesn't mean you're not prepared to try". He's physically not built for fighting unless necessary. I just thought that was really cool

Yeah, i think it's because c!Tommy doesn't really fit that notion. While yes he has friends, people he cares about, people he gave stuff up for... I don't think he'd die for someone else, especially now after the resurrection thing. Tommy does care deeply about others, but his life comes first. Might just be bias on my part tho, whatcha think?

@@nectarinn3 I feel like he would die for his friends honestly, even more so after experiencing what feels like to be dead himself he will not let his friends go through that, even if he will never admit it. Also there's that bit of self hate and depression that c!Tommy has that would push him towards it more, plus he would feel like beeduo who he thinks are in a happy relationship lives hold more value than he has, and that they would be better off without him anyway, trust me, he could not live through c!Tubbo dying for the third time internally without c!Ranboo. (Maybe he thinks that would happen.)

It doesn’t fit the same way not because Tommy wouldn’t die for the ones he loves, but because he will fight to the bitter end before his death for his own life. He’s not prepared to make the sacrifice until there is legitimately no other option. Meanwhile, we have seen both Technoblade and Ranboo willingly give in to things to protect something. They both look at the things around them and calculate their odds of protecting something and dying for it and will die if necessary (I mean, Techno was willing to attempt to fight “30 people” -his exaggeration not mine- and possibly die to help Tommy escape after the community house explosion bc he cared about him at the time). The fact is Tommy would die but he would try not to until he did die, where Techno and Ranboo go “okay. There is no reason to fight for my life here, but there is a reason to fight for another’s for as long as I can before my death so they can escape,” especially when it comes to their one life companions.

one of the things that i noticed in this is the line "with my short existence, i can make a difference", because both techno and phil are way older than ranboo ( we don't know exactly how old , but it's safe to say they've lived a lot longer than a person usually would ) . ranboo's life so far compared to theirs is way shorter , and seeing as he doesn't have memories of before the dream smp as of right now , that time frame is even shorter . despite him not having his memories and having lived for such a short time compared to the people he's lived with , he wants to protect tubbo and michael with all he has . amazing work as always !!!

Say what you will but... C!Technoblade has a very soft and caring side, a side that surfaces when he's around people he trusts. While Techno's demeanor might still be rough sometimes, even when interacting with people he cares about, there's a part of him that's alert at all times, ready to go in and defend the friend in question. It's a reaction that you could observe when paying attention to his behavior around Tommy and later on Ranboo - Techno pretends that he isn't concerned and yet, when Tommy and Ranboo were threatened he immediatly made his presence known, clearly warning whoever was posing a danger to the boys. And honestly, if we were to compare Techno's protectiveness to the times other characters step in to defend a friend, it appears that other than say, Wilbur who needs people to follow him because otherwise he wouldn't be able to secure a powerful position, Techno couldn't possibly really gain anything from this, at least not in terms of power - he has no other motif for protecting his loved ones than his actual trust and affection. Quite frankly, he is probably the character whose care and concern for friends is one of the most pure and genuine; Especially considering the way he allows allies to "opt out", to stay home if they feel uncomfortable with any of his plans. Have you noticed how Techno always gives the people he likes the opportunity to stay out of or leave the battle? He told Philza that he did not have to support him in the Doomsday War, gave Tommy the chance to stay neutral and leave with him, let Ranboo flee unscathed despite being L'Manbergian; There's even a clause in the Syndicate's set of rules, stating that a member can simply choose to not join one of their exploits even if they decided on it together. He doesn't expect, and more importantly doesn't want people to die for him in battle, they mean more to him than just being assets - they're people, free people with a mind of their own, just like him. More importantly though... The people in question... They're his friends and he doesn't want to lose them. So when Techno trains Ranboo (and also Niki), you can assume that he doesn't simply do it to give the Syndicate an advantage in battle - he does it to keep its members, his friends, safe. Amazing animatic as always, Wolfy. You manage to portray a softer Technoblade than we usually get to see canonically, fulfilling his role as a mentor to Ranboo's character. I especially adore how you direct the viewer's attention to Techno's earring that represents one of the Friendship Emeralds and his friendship to Phil, while Ranboo is wearing his wedding ring that, of course, relates to his relationship with Tubbo. Both Techno and Ranboo are willing to fight for the people they love and seeing the two train together and bond over their care for their closest loved ones is just a wonderful thought! Great work!

this is amazing! honestly the amount of detail you put in your animatics amazes me even now. honestly with this song their dynamic is really fitting, during this episode garnet explains how pearl threw herself in front of any danger in order to protect rose and honestly its rather fitting with emerald duo. techno is willing to risk everything to protect phil because phil only has one life left and has stayed with him the longest. great animatic my dude

Lovely job on the choreography. The flash to Techno and Phil amidst a battle was a great touch. In SU, both pairings (Rose+Pearl, Steven+Connie) have romantic implications, but here both are just platonic. The fact each pair matches in its media (tv show vs this animatic) works well. Wonderful work on the perspective shots as well. Great job!

Your drawing style for technoblade is my favorite. It shows the elegance and technique in his fighting and his stature as someone who is not willing to back down. It also shows him like a royalty kingdoms knight which is pretty fitting for him as someone whose very loyal to his goals and his friends and would never betray them. (Also he has a crown on his skin royalty oh yeah!) The eyes being black and sharp also represents his dark side and how keen he is. It shows that he is the predator and how most are seen as prey and how although loyal and knights usually are good, that his dark side is the part of him that is most prominent. The fact that hes seen as a killer.

AAAAAAA- OK OK MY EMERALDTWT HEART CANT TAKE THIS- I have a headcanon that despite being immortal, Techno has a fear of death/dying and thats where "Technoblade never dies" comes from and later it just became his thing, so when the line "When you live for someone, you're prepared to die" came, my stone-cold heart just melted and now it hurts help- (Also i got the second out of the three versions of "Do it for him" training arc animatics i want. Tommy & Techno, Ranboo and Techno and now im just waiting for Techno and FireBreathMan.)
