I got this animation once by complete accident. I went hardass and killed the dancer way early and got my hands on the dragon slayer greataxe, upgraded it to +5 and got the stats for it and destroyed pretty much everything up to the 2/3 mark (where enemies begin to have enough health to be a threat again). Anyways when I got to wolnir I targeted the bracelets on his left hand first, broke them both, then went after his right and somehow even though his health was just under a third managed to kill him before breaking the third bracelet. It kind of confused me seeing him just disintegrate in front of me.

probably its your weapon. Wolnir is weak to blessed weapons

It's because the bracelet protected him from the Abyss. If you destroy all the bracelets he will being consumed by the Abyss, that's why his animation is him dragged into the void

@@HazDev56 I'm fully aware of that, I was saying that once I managed to actually kill him without breaking all three bracelets, getting the animation where he just crumbles to dust like the video showcases.

Makes sense! The gauntlets were protecting him from the Abyss so it’s cool that you can finish him on your own as well, rather than merely giving him to the darkness

*I know i am VERY late to this buttttt...* I think you get this for killing him too fast, because on every play through I did where I started myself with op weapons he died like this, and my other character that I didnt start op with, had the dragging animation

@@caesoniasAquaria the reason for this animation is if you destroy his bracekets he get's swallowed by the abyss as it was the only thing protecting him, while if you have powerful enough weapons and instead of destroying all the bracelets you just kill him by hitting his arm he will die

I'm glad the three Gimmick bosses (Wolnir, the Ancient Wyvern and Yhorm) can be killed normally, although I wish it was easier, because for most people the three battles are bad thanks to the gimmick, they might be better off without them, but I salute From Soft for trying something different.

@@mattmcgirt7771 I doubt it. Wolnirs crown is "the one true crown" made from grinding up all the other lords that he had conquered. He started falling into the abyss, and pleaded with the gods for the first time ever. He stripped the armlets from dead clerics to resist the abyss, that's why breaking them causes him to fall down into the abyss, whereas, killing him with atleast 1 armlet just makes him disappear like the other bosses.

I killed wolnir in less then 30 seconds and i think my lol was like 60 something. Im almost done with the game in at the soul of cinder and im a lvl 91 about to fight him.
