I was thinking the same thing. When they’re older they are going to be so thankful that they got to see so much of the world with their parents. I didn’t travel out of country like them, but my mom was a single mom. My grandfather her dad always made sure we went on family vacations, and I’ll think fondly of them. Eventually my mom got her masters though, and she paid for the trips. My grandpa was the definition of a greatman. Fun fact is he was speaker of the house for Florida in the 70s. As someone who lived in Morocco for the better part of 2020, I'd say this is pretty spot on! I really enjoyed watching this. I miss Morocco so much and can't wait to get back. Also, I like to WesternUnion myself money to the next country I'm traveling to. The exchange rate is usually pretty decent, they're are everywhere and you can get a larger sum of money to avoid all the ATM fees. And if you want to really enhance your medina experience, learning a bit of Darija (Moroccan Arabic) never hurts!

I went to Morocco about 35 years ago as a teenager with my mom and older sister. First week was a guided bus tour through Marrakesh, Rabat, Meknes, and Fez from what I remember. Week two was spent in Agadir at the beach. Definitely culture shock to an American teenager who hadn't much travel experience. Cous cous was at what seemed like every meal. Mint tea was delicious, but my favorite was the fresh baked petit rolls. All the things you said are exactly true. Especially about the people being friendly and laid back. My niece lived there for a couple years without incident, teaching English maybe five years ago.

as a Moroccan I can confirm what you said about us refusing being photographed. Yeah. we don't like it when a tourist tries to take you a picture. It's fully understandable that it's normal in their countries may be, but in Morocco it's not. Other than this, we are friendly and welcoming.

One of the best beachy cities in Morocco is "Agadir", it has a large coastline and beautiful - sometimes really big somtimes small ones - waves, amazing for surfers and watersports enthusiasts, I do recommend it, enjoy your trip 😀

@@CAARaeed Morocco is one of the safest countries in Africa, you have to know that in more than 11 years only 2 terrorist attacks with 19 deaths I know that these are people and not numbers but compared to other countries Morocco is way safer than many other countries including european ones, and the incident you are talking about was performed by ISIS members and does NOT reflect Moroccan people at all.

I love Morocco. I traveled there in 2021 after covid. There were still some travel restrictions but everything was wonderful. Traveling back home to the USA, the guards at the airport said I was not allowed to take Moroccan currency outside the country. Cash is king in Morocco.

If you're going alone, try focusing on big cities that have many tourists and also police of tourists. The best suggestions are: Rabat, Salé, Marakkesh, Agadir, northen cities and saharian cities. And avoid walking in small and empty neighborhoods.

Just as a heads up I do speak Arabic not fluently but I speak it enough to know what I'm talking about when it comes to saying this. If you speak Modern Standard Arabic, Egyptian Arabic, Lebanese Arabic, or Jordanian Arabic the locals are going to understand you however good look on understanding the locals. I have a Moroccan friend that I talk to and we'll start talking in Arabic when we are around her family and friends but when they start speaking Moroccan Arabic due to the Berber influence good luck on understanding what they're going to say. Again ninety-nine percent of the time they're going to get what you're saying but good luck on understanding what they are saying because Moroccan Arabic is a whole different world

People there are super super friendly. If you like to sympathize whith people, expect to be invited at their home to drink tea, eat bread with olives and cheese all day long. To be welcoming is a tradition to them. If you speak french you'll go a long way, Morocco/France friendship have a long history.

@@woltersworld In addition to what you said, the Sahara tour from Marrakesh is either 3 or 4 days - I did the 3 day 2 nights one staying in Dades and in a bedouin tent after the camel ride from Merzouga onto the steepest sand dunes Erg Chebbi. While staying in Marrakesh, there are many places to see in the city (gardens, palaces, medina, souks, mosques) and you can do day trips from there to Agadir (looks like Costa Del Sol), spectacular Ouzoud Waterfalls, and to Imlil National Park viewing Mount Toubkal in the Atlas Mountains
