I recall first reading this, seeing the cover, and realizing two of my favorite worlds had collided. Marvel gave Nihei the go ahead, and he delivered a version of Logan we never knew we needed. If marvel realized this move, and moves like it, could save them in these dire times. It was a comparable work to Abara. No GBE, no overpowered BS. Just Logan, his claws and his regeneration. Loved this manga/comic collaboration.

What is abara AND GBE?
@kamikazelemming15522 жыл бұрын
@@gothxm Abara is one of Tstomu Nihei's other works, and the GBE stands for Graviton Beam Emitter, a weapon that appears in his most well-known series "BLAME!" and "Knights of Sidonia." It's basically a handgun capable of bringing down a mountain.

Yea. I only wish there was more of it. I'm really enjoying his current "Aposimz" though. I have a feeling there will be a tie-in with Knights of Sidonia as the story progresses
@martijn95603 жыл бұрын
@@inseinenstudios6404 there is a change yea In Sidoina they said that Aposimz was a seed ship that was lost for a long time soo yea. I like his old his stuff better though, the stories are not generic and the detailed art of course but I know that he wants more people to read his works and experiment.
@inseinenstudios64043 жыл бұрын
@@martijn9560 yea, I don't know if we'll ever see artwork like Blame!, Biomega, or Abara again. Knights was definately more generic but I still freaking loved it. I also became a fan of Aposimz artwork the more I read it. I read that Nihei said he was trying an art style with as little black as possible since his previous works were super black heavy so I respect his decision to conquer something new. Look at it this way though, a little more generic means more people are interested, which means more people become interested in his work, which leads to things like the master edition releases which are freaking awesome. I really hope they do one for Biomega... but I also think that is unlikely.

Just a guess. I don’t think Marvel has any artists currently that can compare with Nihei. Mangaka work way harder than most western artists. And lastly I looked for similar works and I couldn’t find any other comparable Marvel and manga collaborations.

@@danahambelton941 most western comics in general don't have talent that can compete with manga as a whole, in regards to this past decade specifically; Manga just offers great art and storytelling that has been lacking here for quite sometime, at least collectively speaking

@@danahambelton941 Marvel published lots of unique comics around that time. Wolverine Netsuke by George Pratt, Banner by Brian Azarello and Richard Corben, Wolverine/Hulk by Sam Kieth, Megalomaniacal Spider-Man by Peter Bagge etc. Wolverine Snikt! was one of them. Every one of these is completely unique and they are drawn by people who don't usually do Marvel comics. You can't compare these with normal marvel comics, you can't compare them with each other. I even think Nihei is closer to the normal marvel comics artwise, at least he doesn't experiment with form like Sam Kieth etc.
