This did have me asking this very big question. If at the end of Days of Future Past, Mystique had Wolverine as Stryker in disguise, how did the real Stryker get him? If you’re going to come up with an excuse to have Wolverine be in the movie, at the very least explain your excuse well.

Here's the real answer and it's not even sarcasm. This is genuinely the answer. There is a deleted, alternate take of Stryker's team "rescuing" Logan from the river in Xmen Days of Future Past. Instead of taking him to medical attention, Stryker insists that he'll ensure his safety, labelling him as "X". There is no Mystique/Stryker bullshit going on in this deleted scene; this is the actual Stryker kidnapping Logan! Mental that they deleted that scene from the final cut, but it is undeniably canon if we are to go off of this weapon X scene here in Apocalypse. Blame Bryan Singer's over confidence for assuming a Mystique/Wolverine team up movie was going to happen after Days of Future past😂

I know I read somewhere that Hugh Jackman didn't appear in Dark Phoenix because he was "supposedly" done and because the Jean Grey actress was too young for it to be a love interest. I can't speak for other fans but I honestly didn't care if Wolverine and Jean Grey had a love interest in this one, because they didn't need it. You can't have a Xmen movie without Wolverine period. And that's why it ended up flopping, along with other reasons💯
