Even though Sterling scored two, his performance has dripped considerable last many games. Gives away the ball too easily, never shoots in time when in position, even shoots, way off target, good only for tap in. Not to forget, he was the reason for the first Wolves goal too. I think this was a game that was better watched on TV than at the game because I don't agree at all that Otamendi played well or that City put a lot of effort in. I could see that they were going to get 1 back at 2-0 because as soon as we scored we started coastsing. Attitude was bad and we gave a lot of free-kicks away. Otamendi was very committed but neither he nor Fernandinho should be playing in our side, Laporte can not come back too soon.

As for fixture congestion, been that way around Christmas for as long as I remember, far from ideal but it's hardly a conspiracy against city. City fans need to start going easy on the conspiracies, it starts to look really petty and stupid when they're thirteen points adrift at the halfway stage and it won't be long before the rest of the football world starts to notice. The static defence almost never comes under direct threat, with tactical fouls once the possession is lost keeping the ball much higher up the pitch. Thus, when more than one of the technically gifted midfielders and forwards experience a dip in form simultaneously, the principal defensive scheme is negatively impacted and the back line is called upon to perform more of a task they aren't equipped to handle. Lately, in his honest moments, Guardiola's face betrays the sort of pain one sees in managers not getting the best out of certain players and he would certainly not be jumping for joy that Arteta departed before the end of the season. With the season this far advanced, it's more than likely Guardiola would have preferred to keep Arteta rather than promote Borrell. There is plenty that isn't as it should be, both on and off the pitch. For the quality of player available and a proven world-class manager at the helm, performances and results should be better. It is extremely rarely the way in football, but fans ought to, at least occasionally, give credit where it's due. Klopp has systematically gone about building a machine to compete against arguably the best side to ever play in the English top-flight. Guardiola's Citeh is the only one that could consign a Liverpool-record 97-point campaign to runners up in the division. The pain of that improbable miss has refocused minds at Liverpool and allowed the gaffer to fine-tune the machine into arguably the best-balanced first-XI in world club football at present. Not as technically gifted in many positions as a number of our rivals, but unmatched as a collective. Players assembled and re-schooled as necessary to serve a particular style of play. Through the ups and downs of last season, Klopp has finally brought the bench to a level he can trust and there is now genuine strength in depth. Ian Otamendi is a complete liability. Maybe an average Championship player but never PL. A disaster waiting to happen. He does more diving in than Tom Daley.
