The children are old enough to know the mother was doing something wrong. They may not know what the consequences are or why she is in handcuffs or Police custody but I'm sure they knew something wasn't right when the mother sneaked them in the park when everyone else is standing in line. Don't underestimate children. They are very aware and perceptive of what goes on.

I don't think the kids were traumatized. This can't be the first time this has happened. I'll bet the mother has done this before using her kids as excuses. I've witnessed parents teaching their kids to shoplift in a store. The kids have to know it is wrong to shoplift. The mother should serve time in prison, pay restitution and banned from Disneyland for at least 5 years. Kids will learn from this by missing mom in jail for a short time.

Was there on Friday. I saw another person put an older child in a stroller and pushed him thru. Saw another gal walk out of Plaza with a plate of chicken not paid. Just crazy and disappointing. With so many people, it's hard I am sure. Oh my.

I've always thought that stealing, speeding, shoplifting, or sneaking into a theme park for many didn't have anything to do with not being able to afford the shoplifted items, getting caught speeding, or entrance costs. I think in many cases, people look at this as a challenge. It's a game to them. Can I shoplift, speed, get in to a theme park without being caught ??? It's pathetic but, there are a lot of crazies out there ! ! !
