I'm in my early 40s, used to do and train people in SAR, got most of the way through training as an EMT on top of SAR first response before moving on, have over a decade of experience working on aircraft, even helping with military R&D a little while I was enlisted and over two decades of experience in independent graphic design, even doing work for companies like Burton snowboards. I currently work with robots, advanced materials and interesting chemicals. I also occasionally get contacted through certain channels for history info that isn't in some books. Talking to me, a lot of people assume I'm not that bright because my attention is all over the place, where they tend to fixate on a few things to the point that they miss key details and make many assumptions. Funniest part to me saying all this? I regularly think I'm not as smart as what people think IQ scores indicate because I've met true geniuses.😂 Want another fun item that makes some see me as less intelligent? Gotta say college is good for some and a trap for others. I went to college knowing I was going for an electrical engineering degree and that I was not going to be able to easily breeze by. I worked my butt off and got out in 4 years with a useful degree and job, but I know that most people who came in with me left with nothing but debt and a useless degree they don’t use. An actual stat from my college is that 75% of people who put down that they were gonna be an electrical engineer coming into college drop out into another major or out of college by the end of the 2nd year. It is slightly lower for general engineering but that is still crazy high.

Not really, she proved how worthless IQ is a value of scoring intelligence. Works in one of the most mentally demanding fields, with cutting edge science and technology, she's obviously very intelligent, her IQ being lower just means it was harder for her to get to where she is than it would be for the others in the group, since IQ is essentially how quickly you pick up and retain information compared to your peers. So if she did all that with the lowest IQ in the group, than she's insanely dedicated and hardworking, and as a former Army Infantrymen, I'll take less intelligent person who will kill themselves to get what they want, than a highly intelligent person, who isn't accustom to doing the work.

A smart person would also NEVER correlate “EQ” - which would be emotional quotient I suppose which doesn’t even make sense but I’m assuming she means emotional intelligence - and IQ because frankly folks with particularly high IQ often have more trouble relating to other people emotionally and more often find themselves somewhere on the spectrum

​@@daethePeople don’t know that PhDs are specialised in one distinct area of study within a certain field. I studied for my postgraduate degree only focusing on the x band frequency, which is 8-12 GHz, out of the entire electromagnetic spectrum. So if you ask me about anything else, I need to do more reading and research. I don’t know why people think that having a PhD means that a person knows everything. The more I read, the more I realise how little I know.

I literally was in the bottom 50% of my Bachelors of Psychology because my assignments and presentations didn't follow the same generic template as the rest of my cohort. Everytime we did presentations you could literally get the first person to do theirs and then give that same mark to everyone else in that room except me. It's weird when you're studying the way the human brain process and expresses itself but are forced to think along the same linear path. There was a minority of us that just refused to follow the same template every time. Undergraduate degrees are literally just money-makers for the university, they don't actually care if you're getting educated or not.

Further education, at least in my country, supports and encourages self directed studies and critical thinking. The latter stages of a degree is guided by tutors but most students are responsible for their own syllabus. When doing a PHD you're doing it all yourself to professional standards.

I can tell when someone is lying, and can usually pick up on body language things most people miss, but I'm unable to do anything about my own idiosyncrasies.
