Same here, I had 2 c-sections both emergency and planned. Neither time were I given the papers to sign for maternity, paternity and baby's name till the next day. With my second daughter they wouldn't even put the father on the birth certificate because he wasn't there at the time they filed it, he had to go down to the court house to get his name on it. With my oldest daughter he father was there but the papers were handed to me to fill out and he just had to fill out his information. He didn't even have a say in her name legally (we did mutually decide on a name previously or more like I decided and he agreed lol) no way could a birth certificate be filled out without the mother (who is usually the default custodian parent) unless the mother was either fully incapacitated for a extended amount of time or relinquished her rights before the child's birth
