Not as much toying as trying to unravel the lie by asking for specific details (where did he kick you, with what leg, what did you say when he kicked you, ...). It's a pretty common technique as it requires very quick thinking to be able to withstand questioning like that when you're making up a story, and usually people fail by either hesitating too much or by giving answers that wouldn't make much sense in a real situation. As in, no one would calmly say "this is stupid what you just did to me" when they get kicked in the leg. So it is toying somewhat, but more as an unintended side effect of what she is actually trying to achieve.

I once had a car parked in my spot at an apartment complex. I had to park a long ways away, all on a Friday after a long week of work. The next day I went out, and came back to find a car still in my spot. Or a new one. I don’t know. I had it towed. My lease included a parking spot. The defendant doesn’t want to explain why she parked where she wasn’t supposed to. She then makes herself out to be the victim when the tenant had extra work to do to get around her car. Then it seems she feels put upon when she finds out she’s blocked in. Meanwhile, the tenant made a justified call to the landlord, and the plaintiff showed up to resolve the issue (like a landlord is supposed to do). I think Judy is wrong when she said she didn’t believe the tenant said it better be the first and last time that happened. I can see that happening. So we get to the meat of the case, which is where the defendant claims the plaintiff kicked her. I’m not buying it.
