When being white is only a privilege when you grow up in middle or high class. I am white but I grew up in a black community, got bullied like hell, then kicked some girls ass & suddenly became popular for being a cool white person I guess. I grew up poor af & struggled trying to get out. Still poor but not below poverty anymore. I had to fight to get out, being white didn't make it easier for me at all. Cause mental illness is something I also have & being any sort of gay in a black community is a no. So pretty privilege does exist, I know cause I had a glow up. But white privilege doesn't exist until you get higher the food chain (not to mention for diversity places are hiring people who are not white in order to show they are diverse. Luckily my name sounds Native American so I got surprised looks when they see I am not Native American) Edit: When I have curly hair, go out, treat my partner right, & take my shoes off when going inside my home. My Italian grandpa always ate chicken feet and frog legs and my moms favorite food is tripe. Idk if ppl see all white ppl as having zero culture or? Plus I’m personally very influenced by Asian culture as I studied there and is what I surround myself by so idk some ppls assumptions just make no sense. I use the dishwasher, but from as young as could learn and do dishes it’s been a hard rule to fully scrape, soak, scrub it clean clean, and rinse well THEN put it all in the dishwasher. Basically you wash the dishes before the dishwasher washes the dishes.
