A question for rabbit owners, could they learn going to a liter?
@brianh9358 Жыл бұрын
Yes, but you have to use litter that is designed for rabbits. The chemical powder stuff you use for cats can't be used. Rabbits learn pretty fast to use a litter box. Just do a search for Rabbit litter - it tends to be made of organic material.
@NotKev2017 Жыл бұрын
Yes, I've had 2 rabbits in the past that were both litter trained. And they did it on their own. They are very clean animals.

My Bunny, Leyna never did. I tried, but She was so so stubborn, but most of them can. Leyna was quite the interesting bun. Unfortunately, I felt I wasn’t the Best Bunny mom, her personality and mine jsut never clicked, and I wanted her to be happier, so we found her a new home. She has a friend, and free roam of their entire house. She was stubborn, but such a sweetheart too.
@Lonesome__Dove Жыл бұрын
They do. Litter box but with hay. Thats besr for their digestive track. Eating hay and pooping is their thing.
@Lonesome__Dove Жыл бұрын
My rabbit always used his litter box. Never left his pellets anywhere but the box. Also, to be clear their poop is very easy to deal with, no smell, not wet.... super easy to sweep up. IMO rabbits are the cleanest pets. Just on smell alone they're preferable because they dont have an odor.

We've had house bunnies.... one of them, a huge white one named Maxium Fluff, was extremely intelligent!! Maxie knew how to not only get his Cheez-it box, but also how to carefully open it to get at the Cheez-its inside. We got him a buddy, a small tan angora named Bobo. Maxie was so happy to meet Bobo, and he proudly took him on a complete tour of the house! Maxie was very particular about everything, especially his litter box, which was cleaned twice a day because he liked to lay in it too!!! His preferred litter, Cedarific, of course!! He would also love to rip newly applied wallpaper.... he would carefully tear off sheets.... but he did leave it alone after it dried!!... thank goodness!!! He had a blue harness, and my husband would take him for walks. When he was tired of walking he would climb up onto my husband's shoulder and just sit there and watch the world.... enjoy your fur-baby!!!

As a bunny parent to a 6-yr old minirex, I agree they have their own unique personalities, are very social and affectionate. My bunny will tug on my pant leg or nudge my ankle when it wants head rubs. They thrive being free roam and you will see they are smart and goofy too.

Happy free roaming bunnies are the best. Everyone has their own personality and dislikes. Our first one just liked to snuggle, the second just loved to explore, the third one just loved to play with our dogs and beachball. My current one is a bit of an oddball. Doesn't really like any veggies or fruits, prefers to just sit close (only petting allowed at times). But they all said Hi by running a few circles around me, whenever i came home.

Awesome story....rabbits love to climb so when I build rabbit homes/condos, I make them multi-levels so they can climb with a balcony height so the owner does not have to bend over to interact with their rabbit. And they position the balcony so the morning sun hits it and your bunny will take his name getting warmed up by the sun. My bunny tracks the sun as it moves so he changes his napping position throughout the morning. Bunnies are very smart as you stated. Great job caring for him.

Rabbits are remarcably intelligent. As a kid we had a group of 4 and "my" bunny knew his name, did tricks and recognized specially constructed obstacles and used them as taught. Like hurdles, rings, seesaws... Only downside: Not a specially long life and the issue with nibbles and gnaws on anything destructible. Cables and wooden anything should not be left unatended if you care for your pet and your furnishings. We even had an sizable outdoor enclosure with all kinds of natural (healthy) materials, but when taken inside the urge to nibble never vanished. Other that that it is a joy to see em florish. Those zoomies and random hops are a good sign of happyness! EDIT: Don't forget they might learn how to open doors. Ours at least learnd to jump on the handle like a cat to open anything that didn't open to the inside.
