@@moorspede Nobody was fighting for these puppies. My sister grabbed one, and assumed the crowd around the bin they were found in would also take the other two. She called multiple places to be sure the other two were also taken and was told that the city sent them to Animal Control as the local shelter was full. She found them at Animal Control, in quarantine after being vet-checked (she also arranged vet care for Sophie on her own). Nobody was interested in taking the other two, so my sister took them home.

My wheelchair to me is an extension of my body and I love how the puppies treated the sister’s chair like it was part of her too. When a wheelchair is how you’re regularly mobile it feels like more than just another tool I use in life - it does feel part of me. That’s something other, non-wheelchair users have really struggled to understand yet animals seem to get right away. My parrot loves my chair and recognizes it like it’s an extension of me. She uses the wheel spokes like her own personal climbing gym whenever I’m not in it. She shows affection/attachment towards it but knows to not damage/dirty it - she plays with it like she does people but not objects. I find it both delightful and fascinating how she so easily understood that without training 💚

I love this reply, I feel the same way about my wheelchair, so I absolutely melted when Anna just decided all on her own little self to climb up for snuggles. That clip of me calling her as she climbs up was the second time she did it. She had done it only a few moments before, the first time. She is incredibly smart! I've even managed to get her to pick up and give me items a few times now.

Mobility aids are so important for independence and freedom, it always drives me crazy when i hear some airline completely jacked up someones wheelchair because they didnt store it safely. It's like if someone gave you their prosthetic leg for safe keeping, its their way of getting around, and you need to respect that. Your parrot sounds like a little sweetie, im sure she cares about you very much ❤️

I can truly say having a puppy or kitty is one of life's greatest gifts. I adopted three, eight week old puppies from a gas station in the town I live.
