Yea “enslaved to tradition” did it for me. So sitting in a cubicle for a faceless corporation earning minimum wage, so they can buy the next piece of tech is not slavery. Traditional wives love to bring up the children and keep a nice home whilst the man is hard at work to look after his family. She just ends up with no children and unhappy all her life sitting alone with a bunch of animals to keep her company whilst all her friends are happy with a relationship and children. The song would have been much better about the oppression of the woman with all this rainbow gunk going on letting men into their spaces. What does confuse me is he usually sings about the oppressive nature of the state, so to go down this route is actually absurd.
