I don’t know what you all are seeing but I am seeing an improperly trained puppy. This dog seems to have come from working stock which means his reaction is to hunt and protect, she wanted the protection but not the responsibility, I believed that this puppy should have been saved taken from her and re-homed to someone who could train him properly. Lack of training, each time he bit someone he thought that he was protecting her, he didn’t deserve that fate. If I was there I would take him , it would take time these dogs are very smart.

These types of people piss me off. That dog could have had a great life with love and fair guidance. Instead, because she doesn't want to manage him properly, he's being euthanized. But don't worry, I'm sure the dog was never "abused" with a crate or a prong collar.
@MaiBoricuaTai
@MaiBoricuaTai Жыл бұрын
Right?! A quick pop with the prop collar would stopped his bite in the first place but she had him on harnesses. Crate training is safety, safe and calm space for the dog, and it means you can put your dog up without fear they will hurt someone else. She could have easily do all of this....if she sought out training before getting the dog and learning/reading up on the breed and its needs. She was abusive, the poor dog didn't deserve her bs.

I disagree with prongs and e-collars (I never used them on my 90lbs boy) and I have a supposed untrainable breed. Prongs just make it quicker to learn and my philosophy is always to take your time and to not rush things. So prongs don’t fit in with my world view but I don’t mind others using them. It’s not cruel.

@@ihatepenuts1 the only problem I have with those type of devices is how people tend to use them the wrong way. Then I complain. I was bit by a German shepherd that was "overprotective" and the lady didn't even apologize. She was like oh did she bite you hard? It doesn't matter if it but me hard, it bit me that's the point. I didn't antagonize the dog at all, I was doing my job knocked on the front door the dog came out of the garage door and was growling. I started slowly backing up but staying firm and confident and when she opened the front door it leaped and bit my thigh hard. She acted like it was my fault, when in reality it was lack of responsibility from her. I didn't want the dog to be put down, but I am terrified if that dog gets out and hurts someone else or even a child. Its honestly terrifying.

I have a beautiful GSD. I walk him every day. He is never outside (except in my backyard) without a leash. At least once a week someone stops me and tells me how well behaved he is. I tell them “Thank you”. But I always tell them it’s taken a lot of work. He is a pain in my ass at home, but in public, he knows how to act. I’ve had him more than 4 yrs now, and he’s only growled at 2 people (men) on our walks. I listened to him and crossed the street. This story just breaks my heart. What a beautiful dog, so sad this ended the way it did. But his fate was sealed when she allowed him to bite the officer.

That poor dog! What a waste. I’m so glad the officer didn’t get hurt worse than that! I couldn’t afford to get my dog from a breeder, I got him off of craigslist which was a risky move but we tested him out and really liked him. He’s a German Shepherd, Australian Kelpie cross. We got him at about four months old, and he had a tendency to be a little reactive and we have been socializing him as much as possible and it’s made a huge difference. Also, he knows what’s expected of him and how he is supposed to behave, and what happens if he doesn’t. He’s a million times better than he was when we first got him! We are always watching your videos, love a prong collar :-) and have learned so much from them thank you! He’s my dog, and he’s super protective over me, but he loves meeting new friends and he’s great with kids, and I take them on a walk nearly every day and anytime we go anywhere he’s going with us. He’s super smart, super loyal, and now that he knows not everybody’s a bad guy, he loves people and making new friends(they become part of his herd) and I trust him with kids and walking him in public and spending time in public places, He’d be so much farther behind if it wasn’t for all that we’ve learned from watching your videos. Thank you so much, for making this available to the average Joe. Congratulations on your retirement and thank you for your service :-)

I too have noticed an increase in highly reactive sheps as well in recent years. Just two days ago we had a close call with one at my job. I work as a dog trainer at a retail pet store and was in the back of the store when I heard a loud, repetitive, alarm bark from what I believed to be a larger breed dog (likely a shep). Turns out it was in fact a large shep, fully intact, alarm barking and lunging at a young boy who was skipping in the store. The child was about 6-8 feet away from the dog. The woman that owned the dog had the dog on a braided nylon slip lead that was approx. 4 feet in length. She was barely able to maintain grip of the lead as the dog lunged towards the child. I quickly made my way to my leader on duty and told her, "that dog is reactive towards that child". We have a policy that only leaders may formally ask a patron to leave the premises, so I was advising her of the danger hoping she would make the call. She did in fact promptly walk to the woman and calmly instructed her to leave with her dog. The woman's jaw dropped as if she was shocked by this and asked why. My manager told her that her dog is clearly aggressive and needs to remove him for everyone's safety. She began screaming vulgarities at my leader and claimed she would be calling corporate. All of that happened in parking lot. Meanwhile, I am speaking to the child and parent. The child says "that doggie barked at me a lot!" I told him yes and said "that doggie has a very bad handler!" My leader pulled me to the side afterward and asked me if she made the right call. I told her yes and if corporate wants to speak to me they may and I will tell them how dangerous the dog was. Too many people are getting dogs they can't handle and there are a great many poor breeders out there which is a recipe for disaster.

People always say what a great dog he is, and that’s true he’s got a great personality, but it’s also because of a TON of work. I don’t trust any dog anymore, I’m sick of getting attacked by people who act their dog’s aggression is something everyone else should just deal with. Dog bites are EPIDEMIC right now, between bad breeding and idiots owing dogs they shouldn’t. And yes people don’t do enough research when getting a “purebred” from a breeder. My own family didn’t. Even though I’ve been the first one to have dogs and rescues and Inform people of bad Breeders and puppy mills etc. Then they all decided they wanted dogs too. And what do they do? They go to Lancaster PA which is known to be puppy mills Smh. Any breeders with numerous litters, different breeds, always puppies available etc should be blatantly obviously NOT RIGHT! Then of course the one right off the bat had ear issues, he sits oddly on one side, heart murmur. The other one has behavioral issues and never sits still and is always on edge. The other one as well. Ugh I wish I could do more about these poor dogs and these Sht people. If you are wanting a certain dog and are going to go to a breeder, please just take the time to research and do it diligently. There are responsible people out there who do care about the breed and the health and integrity of the animals. It might take longer. And you might have to travel a bit. But please don’t give business to these careless people.

So why should the dog be euthanized? The dog is just untrained and he's not even a bad behaviour case, just not trained at all. The dog can be trained and rehomed easily. Is it fair that somehow is the "dog's fault" when it's clear that the owner should never own a pet, not a dog, but a pet at all. And I do not know the laws there, but after all this, did this owner get a restriction for not being able to own another dog again? Or is she going to kill lots of dogs (and hopefully not humans and other animals) from now on without any consequences for herself? Like how is the dog a danger for public and not his freakin owner? Like ffs the dog is not even an adult at 1yo, physically and mentally speaking.

Wouldn't a better outcome be to rehome the dog with an experienced, responsible person who has time to train him properly. It seems a shame that such a beautiful young dog has to die because he had an irresponsible owner, who couldn't be bothered to invest the time and money to have him properly trained. After all, he didn't choose her to be his owner.

This is crazy! This morning my dog and I was almost attacked by a German Shepard mix. As I was walking my dog someone let two dogs out of their apartment without a leash. One bully and one German Shepard mix. I was outside screaming who’s dogs are these?! Nothing! I kept swinging and screaming at the dog to get away. Until a random guy came out to help me claiming some guy let’s his dogs off leash everyday without supervision. That’s insane. I left angry and thanking the guy forgetting to ask which apartment number. Now I have no idea what to do other than to wake up at the same time to catch which apartment the dogs came from.

I got bit in the hand by my cousins fully grown German Shepard when I was a kid. He bit me as a warning (he was food aggressive) and he didn’t bite me hard enough to puncture skin and it didn’t actually hurt. It scared me back then but today I know well enough to know that dog didn’t want to harm me. He simply wanted me to respect his space. This issue with this dog and owner is being blown out of proportion. The dog isn’t dangerous. The dog is protective. The owner isn’t a bad person or bad owner. The State is by far too invasive over this nothing issue.

This is so upsetting. People who have no intention of being in control of their animals shouldn’t have animals. If you have a large breed dog that could knock over a person by jumping on him or bite, someone’s hand off, you must be in control! That dog must be trained! All dogs should be trained, of course. But, big dogs absolutely must be. And that doesn’t let owners of small dogs off the hook, either. Some of the most vicious dogs I’ve ever known were little yappy things. My late dog, God rest, her soul, was a chocolate lab. Sweet as could be. Very well trained. Never met a stranger. And one day in 2019, we went for a walk around our neighborhood. Someone who lives up the street from us, didn’t have their storm door latched all the way. When we walked by on the sidewalk, their Maltese busted through the screen door And attacked our dog. I was literally trying to body block my dog so she wouldn’t get hurt, but this Maltese just kept going for her face. And my poor dog just didn’t even know what to do so she stood there and took it and I’m kicking this stupid dog off my dog and screaming for the owner to come outside. And then the owner came out and she was completely blasé about it and acted like it wasn’t a big deal. I called the police and that dog was euthanized because it bit the officer that came out. Blake, if you don’t have any intention of training your dog, you shouldn’t have one.

A perfect example of someone "loving their dog to death". They make excuses and blame everyone but themselves for the dog not being socialized, having no manners and the owner having zero control over the dog or themselves. The irresponsible owner allows the situation to continue until the poor dog has to pay with it's life for the person ognorance and arrogance. Disgusting.

I am quilty quilty for not having my dog scocialized. I am 66 no family or friends around, work, live 30 min. From town, no parks. Country living... 3yr old fm spayed pit. Spoiled rotten, knows basic commands and some tricks. She gets to run 14 acres from time to time. We are on a corner and she has started chasing farm trucks, cars playing music, tractors and what ever down the long side of the road and property. I purchased the wireless fence to keep her from the corner and running that long strip. She has a doggy door and fenced back yard. Now 1/2 acre including the house outside. This has taken one time and she is aware of the flags and her stopping points. I will put permanent items like a large potted plant that will help her remember not to go past. For now, I hope this works for the rest of her life. I want people to feel safe with this love pit. I also never want her hurt or for her to make a bite. I am quilty but responsible. All it would take to change her mind frame is for a person to panic and run or yell and come at her. Yes, i can close her from the yard and front of house if needed.

German Shepherd came in my backyard and killed my Jack Russell, he really was not an aggressive dog, I believe it's because they were two male dogs very territorial however this German Shepherd got away from its owner is how it got to my dog, I believe anybody that has a German Shepherd or any large dog for that matter definitely needs to properly train their dog.

Seeing how she didn’t even hold the dog’s leash with 2 hands knowing it would lunge and also let it hit the far end of the leash is just irresponsible, and then she didn’t show any apology or comply to the officer’s recommendations for the kennel and muzzle (2 things that would be very important in this case, especially the muzzle). I don’t think that woman deserves that dog at all after seeing this. That’s just what I see

From my experience, I thought my Rottweiler was bad breeding stock because of the aggression he was showing at 8wks old. However, when I sent him to board and train, the trainers had zero issues training him, he loved them and they loved training him. Turns out it was my lack of confidence that he took advantage of and was dominant even that young! I think the trainer trained me!!!😂 more than he trained my pup!! Either way, this woman is a menace and probably thought it was her dog being protective... Uh no... Unless you specifically train the dog for protection, it should show no aggression toward humans. My Rottie can be approached by almost anyone, any age. He loves the attention. Thanks for making people aware and hopefully stopping bad ownership. I cannot blame the dog. The minute any dog shows dominance, the owner is responsible for an intervention and getting help to solve the behavior.

This video literally makes me cry. She is basically sending her dog to death and she knows the fate of this dog. She did not of course want to send her dog to animal control which is one reason for her poor handling in addition to not getting the necessary support for her dog. Very sad. The dog always pays. I agree with Garret this dog could have been saved.

I have a pit/german that I rescued that was abused. He wouldn’t survive on the streets. His snout and mouth are too long and too skinny so he can’t eat properly. Terrible humans. And then b34t him on top of getting picked on by the litter. He’s rehabilitated and amazing with my children. I despise humans that mistreat animals. This dog is a one year old german shepherd. It's still a puppy in an adult's body and is going through his rebellious phase. Not everyone should own a german shepherd. This dog if anything should be rehomed. This woman is not strong enough to maintain that dog without training. Getting insurance for a dog is tough. I currently have a one year rehomed GSD and needs some manners. He uses pressure bites because he want to play.

I didn't realize there are breeding problems in German Shepherds recently. That explains a lot to me! I grew up knowing a lot of German Shepherds who were all awesome dogs. But my neighborhood right now has several German Shepherds that are very difficult dogs. There is one house that I cannot even pass by on the opposite side of the street without the German Shepherd losing it in its fenced yard. It got half its body over the fence trying to get at my puppy and me. Another off leash German Shepherd charged at us just 2 nights ago..and the only thing that saved us was another person running by who it decided to chase instead. I have never before in my life seen this with these dogs. The ones I have known have always been very well trained. It is extremely hard for me to teach my puppy to walk on the leash properly with this nonsense going on!

I had roommates last be year who decided to get a dog from the pound (knowing that same dog was sent back to that pound twice for being aggressive towards people and animals, poorly trained and poor upbringing) the dog was for one of the roommates so obviously, he became only accustomed to her. Everyone else who lived there, couldn't even be in the same room. They never got training, and the dog eventually ended up biting and scratching me while I was returning home. I can't stand people thinking that just because a dog is cute, he is fine and doesn't need anything. My injuries thankfully are healed, but after that incident and watching this channel, I'm always on alert with any dog. When I get one of my own, I'm definitely going through this training, and in starting my good boy young !
