Having followed your adventures on Sailing Doodles and your very own Taylor’s Travels it was easy to recognize you had a reluctance to perform your music in front of the camera. Understandable. Thousands of subscribers is a pretty big audience. I’m joining many others I’m sure in thanking you for taking a deep breath and summoning the courage it took to include your very first musical performance for all of us to enjoy in this latest episode of Taylor’s Travels. The thing you should always remember is you sing for the love of the song and that of creating music YOU enjoy! Sharing it with others is a gift you choose to share because of your love of music. If you feel you didn’t perform anything perfectly, don’t worry yourself about it. It was a gift given, don’t let perfectionism stand in the way of the joy and love that it represents to you. Bravo Taylor. Keep singing from your heart and please keep sharing it with us! You are a quite remarkable young lady. Believe in yourself!

So happy to see you do your own channel! Good luck with it! As a sailing instructor, I must note, if things go flying around the boat in adverse conditions (like at 11:45), that means you didn't do a proper tie-down / storage check before departure. Also close hatches! Should be part of every good sailor's checklist. Curious about that hand-held electric winch-helper thing... not seen that before. I think I still prefer a good old-fashioned (and reliable) winch handle. Love the production quality! Keep it up!
@mrmotofy4 жыл бұрын
Just a battery right angle drill from Milwaukee. There's a regular electric version too. They are very low RPM variable speed and low geared so has a lot of power. Regular drill chuck so put in anything you need. Head loosens and can flip around if handle is in the way for tight quarters.

First of all, Fantastic video Taylor. Thank you for sharing the woman's perspective of sailing. I've got to say that you are a hell of a first mate. You work so hard and are really trying to learn all the aspects sailing that big naughty Dog. I'm sure you're learning a ton. I thought it was awesome in the when you talked docked the first time in the video. I thought it was awesome that Bobby came and gave you a high five. You could tell he was super proud one you. You're becoming a hell of a good sailor. You and Bobby work well as a team on the boat. I sure hope you come back for next season. Any ways great video. Your a amazing young lady. Taylor, I have been enjoying your video’s since you teamed up with Bobby. I was not a regular viewer of Bobby’s video’s before you came on board. You appear to be absorbing as much information, experience, and just as many of life’s adventures as are available to you. You appear to be the hardest working, most willing to learn, first mate Bobby has employed. I noticed he trusted you to take proper care of his pride and joy when he dealt with his puppy issues. Your video editing is nicely polished, and engaging. Your video’s flow nicely, and you don’t stay on any one subject long enough for the viewer to become board as I have seen with some other channels. I hope Bobby appreciates all you bring to his channel and life. I’ve noticed you treat each other with care and respect. I like the perspective you approach your own video’s with. Best wishes for the good things life has to offer, you appear to be the type of person willing to put in the work it takes to achieve them. Jim.

Great job on the song! Glad you stepped forward, I would like to hear you sing in a half step lower without the capo. It's natural to want to go to a higher register, don't neglect your lower register which I can tell has the potential to be fantastic. I have listened to it several times. Any producer would love to work with this, at least the ones I know. You have a nice natural vibrato I noticed. Stage anxiety is a whole other ballgame that can be conquered. The secret, get yourself out of your head and into the story of the song but, your vulnerability definitely invites your listeners into the song. I hope you don't mind me breaking it down, me and four friends started a songwriting/performance group that has 4,000 members with the purpose of building talent. Keep it up Taylor!
@HQBergeron4 жыл бұрын
Camano man: I like that you are offering some nice feedback and encouragement to Taylor. You also need to offer some reality as well. She has trouble being vocally on pitch at times, sometimes being as much as a half tone off. But she does get back on pitch on the next phrase each time, so it is not like she is tone deaf. This is simply a matter of listening to her instrument more carefully and focusing on keeping her vocal pitch where it needs to be. Perhaps doing some pitch matching exercises while having someone with good ears listening and giving honest, immediate feedback. Her range is fine for this song, capo or not. Solve the pitch issue, and Taylor will give many people musical pleasure listening to her in casual settings and on KZbin.
@Davidrixmusic4 жыл бұрын
@@HQBergeron Absolutely, I heard the exact same thing, I was impressed that she as well heard the pitch issue and immediately corrected it each time. Her ear is there, for sure. She would highly benefit from diaphragmatic breathing, so many developing singers want to raise the pitch before they have developed their lower registers. It's a big stumbling block, I know, I've done it for years. Obviously, she is a very talented person, she has the likability to enter into public performance whether it is music or acting (KZbin obviously) A good vocal coach could easily set Taylor in the right direction with these common singing challenges. Her natural voice is great. Besides the fact, we talk about her as if she is not in the room:)

Great video, awesome perspective. Here is a tip, providing you have a square shower that is only open on one side. Face the exit of the shower, put your feet in the two corners on either side of the door. Lean against the back of the shower, and lather up. When you have done all you can in that position, lean forward on one hand, and wash around there, then repeat with the other hand, rinse...

With that hose you use to dive, maybe you could attach something with some bouyancy about 5 feet behind you on the hose so that it stays floating away from you but isn't strong enough to pull you up or make it uncomfortable. Just to like keep it away from your body. Like a tiny version of a fender on the side of the boat.

Ah, the joys of youth and being fearless! I love the energy you bring to both channels. I especially love how you provide interesting details about your life on-board. When I was much younger, I took the opportunity to sail from San Diego to Hawaii with a couple of friends. The Mast developed a dangerous crack during the voyage so I ended up just flying back home while my buddies stayed in Hawaii to make repairs (some of us had to get back to our day job, haha). You have more sailing experience than me, but one thing learned during my brief voyage was how important it is to eat lots of healthy proteins, fresh vegies and fruits. Cutting out the fats and carbs worked well for me and helped to maintain the 4-pack I sported back then; just food for thought, no pun intended. I'm also thrilled to see you open up with confidence to share your singing voice with the World. I've had a home recording studio for a couple of decades now and love, love being a singer songwriter. I too play an acoustic guitar; a Taylor in fact. The singing in your video was painful to listen to, but I attribute that to nerves. However, I heard a very nice timbre along with muted consonants; a nice style for your natural pitch range. I hope you keep working on conquering the nerves. Lord knows I don't have the guts to put myself out there for the world to critique, so bravo-zulu to you! Your video editing continues to get better with each video; loving it!
