I dropped everything and backed away. Sat down so I didn't worry the cops. I gave my statement and was driving off. Thank goodness they were allowed to tell me the cop was in ICU but was getting better everyday. He came to see me about a month after to thank me. We both cried. As an EMT in the states, you have to understand that the hospital is the definitive care for the patient. We have protocols that state we have 20 minutes on scene with trauma patients and 15 minutes with medical patients. We identify the problem fast as an emergency, try to stabilize the patient and transport appropriately so the hospital can provide care that an ambulance cannot.

Hormone injection for a diabetic?

Insulin is a hormone

The paramedic said glucose, so it would have been a sugar solution injection. With his blood sugar so low giving him a hormone (insulin) injection would have decreased it further. I think the voice over got it backwards.

Cathy Brigham it’s called a glucagon (at least in America where I am). Me and my brother both have type one diabetes and always have one with us in case we get too low from taking insulin for our meals or incase something else weird is happening with our body lol.
