Twins are used quite frequently in magic. It makes it simple to appear to teleport the assistant to the back of the theater behind the audience for example. They make it much easier and the magician can cut out a bunch of other problematic aspects of the tricks.

You can tell these are old fake secrets as the camera has to pan away for the trick to work. Otherwise, you would see the wall move when they do the swap.
