I remember a year or so ago I visited an abandoned train tunnel project with a college friend. Upon entering I could hear the resonant harmonics based on the sounds that lingered for a while just from people talking in the tunnel. For fun I started to hum a deep, steady tone just to see how well it would carry. It didn't take much effort at all for it to become _very_ loud.
