My Stepdad once told me "Death brings out the best in people" (Heavy Sarcasm) My uncle passed away and I was half a country away. So I really could not do much as in handling his estate. So My Stepdad let my two sisters do it.. Months later I got a check for 2500 dollars.. I sat and scratched my head since it should have been well over 10k, My Step dad said to let it go.. I found out that my two sisters billed the estate for most of the money and gave the left over to my brother and myself.. Yep I got half of 5k. It was funny that both my sisters now had fully paid off new cars and more.. When I pass I guarantee neither of them will get more than one dollar form me..

I've gone through a similar situation sadly. When my dad passed away my mom's "bestfriend" started a go fund me for funeral expenses but she never gave us the money. When we were trying to gather the cash for the funeral she would come over to "comfort" my mom but would steal what little we had in our house. She would steal food, random things we had, my mom's beads for her crafting hobby,etc. It's sad that people take advantage of people who are going through a hard time.

My cousin died in the night of 24 of december 2018. I did not know her but my mom and grand parents did very well and they really helped my cousin's mother to take care of the funerals.But first, some doctors and a funeral company scamed them by doing some illegal stuff in order to get money from her. They paid for this, the anti-fraud services were alerted and swarmed on them. But when you are in such a distress, these abuses are hard to live, especialy when you loose 2000€ to the fraud. Second, she was handicaped, and her handicap association tricked her mom to take my cousin's wheelchair (over 15.000€). Third, the online donations where also stolen by the same association. I can relate x)
