The person Chastain’s character was playing inherited a lot of money. Not likely close to Rockefeller’s but enough it allowed her to leave her husband and pursue painting. (She also had a child out of wedlock and was an activist who supported the rights of Native Americans before she went west)

That said, *Michael Greyeyes could "set on a stage and read the San Francisco Phone book and I would find it fabulous"!*. The man is an outstanding Actor, and he is flippin Gorgeous!!!
