A shocking case of theft has surfaced involving a Central Bank of India employee, who allegedly embezzled around ₹1 crore in cash and gold worth ₹25 lakh belonging to customers. The incident has caused outrage, with affected customers gathering at the curchorem police station to file complaints against the bank for negligence and lack of accountability.
In a shocking case of fraud, a woman associated with an NGO for the service of senior citizens in Curchorem has allegedly duped several senior citizens, many of whom were patients. The accused is alleged to have misused the trust of her victims by accessing their SIM cards, withdrawing cash from their fixed deposits, and even stealing gold jewelry from their bank lockers. A complaint against the woman has been lodged at the Curchorem police station.

This is a common occurrence across Goa, specially with old folks left behind I know of a case, where a taxi driver from Margao, Seby, offered his sister in-law Cruzinha as help. For an elderly lady living on her own suffering with dementia. This Cruzinha S, who claims to be from Sanguem and Cuncolim, took the elderly lady to banks and withdrew 10lakhs over a ten month period She was eventually sacked and a Police complaint logged at Fatorda on 5/9/24 As usual the Police did nothing This woman is still out in Salcete, offering to work with the old and vulnerable people

Local police, behaviour is questionable specially towards financial crimes related to senior citizens, the care taker NGO is fully responsible, which bank is this which does not have oversight mechanisms to track excessive withdrawals from long time accounts that were practically dormant. All have behaved irresponsibly, and needs to be held accountable, and prosecuted so that such incidents are less going forward.

This happens because jobs are not given to goans. Our goans are well educated for bank jobs but by taking bribes jobs are given to outsiders. 75% bank should be given to goans. If manager is guilty should be terminated and black listed. Politicians should not interfere to save culprits
