Love the techniques, after the takedown you could even go in to a knee bar or heel hook to destroy the opponents leg for a quick get away.

I love Pentjak Silat, its my "go to" art even though our Jeet Kune do base has 25 systems in its basic frame work. In combat i know Silat will be part of my response.

Hi Alvin. I love your style and your videos. Keep on posting them. I try to buy the pants you wear in the video but I can't find them anywhere. Do you know where I can find them or how it is called? Cheers. Ray from Amsterdam

not bad demonstration but somthing you havent pointed out on the entry the body alighment should be to your left avoiding the cross by stepping to the left with your left foot minimising the chance off the left cross also cutting the angle master c

Overcomplicated and why the fuck is she standing with pulled out hand waiting for his counter? I know that this is only demo but even demo should contain the truth about fight dynamic.

wouldn't work against a trained fighter. just shoot for the double and ground and pound

liam hughes I’ve trained mixed martial arts for years now, from Muay Thai,CSW,boxing, bjj and JKD. Jkd also includes a lot of silat techniques, and although hard to perform in sparring, they teach attributes. Also in a fight, especially street fight you find yourself in very awkward positions at times,so having a tool for every situation is a good idea.

Too many steps? These steps/ tools are used in MMA all the time. There are not different styles of fight, there are different styles of teaching.

Pentjak Silat is not sport its pure maim and kill combat. its so lethal that we have to practice at one third the actual speed of the technique. So cant be used in MMA sport competition.

Typical answer - my art is too deadly. Ican't fight but I can kill you.Pathetic. And techniques on this video are not deadly. They are overcomplicated and relies on opponents compliancy.
