My uterus was angry because I have ignored her needs for way too long. I felt sorry and guilty because it's true, I've wished I didn't have menstruation, or had to do certain things like shaving or using make up which take time and money just because I'm a woman, and I had completely ignored the power of creating life that I hold in there. I felt so dumb, blindfolded, and seems so clear now how PCOS could develop from a mindset like that, that denies femininity. Then you lose it and you understand how valuable it was. I’m a doctor who only cares for women only in primary care but with that comes a lot of gynecological concerns. I have shifted my traditional medical training and practice over the last year to encouraging women to first honor and thank their bodies before criticizing and resting in frustration with ailments.
