Got married young (I was 22, still had a year of uni left). I dated plenty of girls prior, didn’t enjoy the scene, always wanted to be with that one person. Still married 20 years later, got 5 awesome kids, marriage is probably better now than ever. Find someone you like and likes you. Similar interests are good. What’s hard is determining that persons level of commitment and willingness to work through all the challenges you face being together a long time. Also, marry someone you think is hot, but also likes to work to stay hot. Ran a half marathon with my wife this year!

Another BIG mistake we make is assuming things/people are from God. Theres a difference between God speaking to u and ASSUMING that God spoke to u. We make assumptions that God spoke to us about things yet HE wasnt even in the picture most times. That woman in the first clip brought God in her situation 15 YEARS after she chose to be with the guy she was with. I find it interesting when ppl say stuff like this coz it discredits the ppl of faith further just because ppl like her say "God told me this.." when they didnt even involve Him in their choices in the first place

Parents have been married for 25+ years. Mostly because marriages is the bringing of 2 families in africa to help each other
@The-c5jАй бұрын
My parents have been together for 24 years, and this complex narrative often leaves me feeling conflicted. However, I believe there are important cause-and-effect relationships at play in marriage. While my mother and father’s marriage hasn’t always been perfect during these years, I see it as a sacrifice they made for my brothers and me rather than for themselves. This perspective is something many young adults, including myself, struggle with. We need to recognize that marriage is a commitment we should make primarily for the sake of our children, rather than for our own desires.

Not sure if I necessarily agree with that. I truly see your point, yes, however if your parents only stay together for "your" happiness, what about their own? What about the examples they show you? This kid I went to high school with, nice ass family. Dad was a doctor and mom was middle school teacher I think. He came to school and depressed one day and because we were close at the time, one thing led to another and he said he’s mom is leaving the relationship because she fell out of love for his dad. He was really sad about it, I just remember him going from a really happy dude to like always moody. At one point the dad had to move out of their house. My point is marriage is just a scam for men, a scam I’ll sadly have to fall for because I was raised in a traditional home and I want nothing more than that. It really sucks that your wife of years can just wake up one morning, decide to leave and take your stuff on the way out, while you end up sad and deranged

As someone who is religious I’m extremely curious as to the advice people gave her. For example “don’t be unevenly yoked is more so for people who are already in the faith to not try and get someone with differing beliefs. You would be starting the relationship off in subtle conflict and pulling in different directions. If you’re already married then you should be an example by standing on those principles in your life and unless they give you an ultimatum that it’s them or God you should stay in that marriage.

This happens often to women around that age range who marry in their early 20s from what I've learned over the years.
