My grandmother always had her hair under a short, straight black wig. I saw her natural hair only once. It was coily, pure white, moisturized, long, and beautiful.

That’s why I don’t understand the ‘bullying narrative’. How’s the majority getting bullied by the minority? Make it make sense because peer pressure to wear natural texture is absolutely not in the room with us. Women are clearly having no reservations for wearing their hair as they please, so…what’s to complain about?…
@alinabaramerhat286311 сағат бұрын
You and your cousin need to get a life. Do you count how many natural asian or white womem you see. Why we facilitate the dragging of black women so publicly is sad
@Listening4n0w11 сағат бұрын
@InfamousGSG Of course it's deep issues. When you've been told for centuries that you're not beautiful and another standard is forced on you, what do you expect. Our minds have to be RENEWED and destroy all the HUGE white lies told to us!!! That's why it's so important to support channels like this, so black women of ALL ages can embrace and can continue to embrace our unique beauty.

Me too. It's way too hot in the summer for wigs. I don't know how people can stand it. My mom has to wear a wig because she's bald and she takes hers off when we're riding in the car in the summer. I don't even care if anyone thinks my wig looks fake. It is fake.😅

Honestly wig blindness is real😂 and to be fair, many young ladies I see around my age (20s) seem to have a decent lace front but the thing is, you can ALWAYS tell, we mostly at least. It takes soooo much effort from what I've seen. Never worn I wig but I've seen the how long is takes to install and all the steps and yeah, the reasoning is still, 'natural hair is high maintenance' I'm confused?😂

I was volunteering with a woman whose hair was long and beautiful. I even complemented her on it, it looked so full and didn’t have that fake look. Lo and behold, once I got close to her, it was a lace front!! I looked at the hair line and could see a little bit of the lace. From far away it looked like her hair, especially because the ends looked like they could use a trim and the hair looked like a blow out with a very slight silk press. It was wild!

Wig blindness is still a thing though its just that we ignore certain things deliberately to be kind. No wig (especially not a lace front wig) looks realistic in daylight. Those old pics with the wigs covering the whole forehead is definitely crazy but but wigs now arent necessarily better imo especially not in the daylight. The only times wigs look realistic is when they are kinky coily wigs 1. because the texture blends better or already looks natural and 2. people who wear kinky wigs dont really obsess over lace fronts the same way. Like you will rarely see their scalp lifting or being 100 shades lighter/darker, nor will you see the forhead covered in hard gel because the STYLE or WAY that people wear kinky wigs is very different since they need to do less for it to look realistic or presentable.

2:13 I went to get a wig install yearrssss ago (2017-2018 ish) with this African American (but this wasn't in the US though - I live in Asia) and she installed the wig on my forehead like that. I thought it looked crazy but she did one of those 360 videos and put me on her instagram smdh. I normally got my wig installs from a Nigerian braider and she did a good job but became too busy as she started to get more popular. Anyway, my friends told me it looked crazy unprompted and then while at a bowling alley, these dudes who worked there were staring at me and laughing. That was the last straw. I asked her to fix it and she acted like I was the crazy one. I didn't say anything at the appointment because I doubted my own eyes and thought maybe it was just me who thought it looked crazy. I can normally fit 4 fingers on my forehead but when she installed it, I could just barely fit 2. The hair was right on top of my eyebrows like the girl in the video. It's crazy because I don't think she did that to everyone. I looked at her Instagram before booking with her and the women had normal foreheads lol but for some reason with me, she decided to do that...
