I think Estelle Parsons has had one of the most interesting career paths. Her career path is not very typical of most actors.

I get what she says and how she feels regarding the commercialism of television but I hope I never hear her speak ill of her TV work, especially Roseanne. Most of the work-a-day population wouldn't know her were it not for her Beverly Harris character in Roseanne.

Maybe she hasn't been starving and needed a paying gig. 99% of actors don't have the privilege of coming from old money and choosing what work they want to do. They have to pursue those paying gigs. What she's saying is a great ideal....being respectful of great material...but if a Fruit of the Loom commercial will pay the car payment that's what you do.

What she says isn't being bitchy. I believe wholeheartedly in what she says about acting for the theatre.
