Women In Wildfire Bootcamp 2022

Our Vale Women in Wildfire Boot Camp is one of the few firefighter training camps designed by women for women.
Hosted annually in Juntura, Oregon, campers live, breathe, eat, and sleep like firefighters.
The instructors hope it encourages more women to work in wildland fire. And it does! On average, about 70% of students from the camp find firefighting jobs across all disciplines and agencies.

Really? There is a reason not many women do wildland fire fighting, most if not all women cannot keep up with a trained male wild land firefighter. It’s a simple fact of our biological differences. If you want to see what happens when only women are working a fire look at the bamff national park that just burned
