I bought everything used -- exercise bike, cross trainer, and Bowflex HVT (basically a functional trainer). The sellers were married couples and the wives were all overweight and selling the stuff because they weren't using it. Yes, ladies, I could see that you weren't using it.

I am 6'5 "and I weigh 200, When she married me she was 95 lb. When I finally got rid of her 26 years later, she was over 200. She loved eating and that started when she was a teenager and the weight didn't stick... As she grew older her metabolism slowed way down but her eating habits did not. Her weight was always a point of contention and I always called her on it but she would never do anything. It got to the point where I couldn't even get an erection because she was so unappealing. She didn't care, she'd go with Krispy Kreme and buy a dozen donuts. It's not like I didn't gain some weight (20lbs), I did, but when I noticed, I lost it. She told me I didn't have to and that she didn't mind, but I looked at that comment as a reason for her not to lose her weight. The marriage fell apart because of her weight.

In general, this is the main reason why they are jealous of men doing better. Men take more risks (we win more, but we lose more too... you just don't hear about all the losers), and men hold themselves and each other accountable. This is why they push for equity; women want the reward without the work. They want to be the CEO without having to put in the decades of promotions, or taking the risk of starting their own company. Looking around where I live at (Kansas City), yes, women love food, as evidenced with the large number of heavy women, both young and old. The rub is men here are all over this bbw look🤷🏻‍♂️. Copious amounts of biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak, and booze don’t help matters any. I’m 65, unmarried, and add to this the pasty faced anemic look, garish body art, hog rings in noses, and blue hair. Can’t wrap my old head around this.

We have to separate food from its original purpose (nourishment) to what it has become today-a form of cheap entertainment. We watch movies/TV to be entertained, or listen to music or go on the internet. And the food we eat, when we're not eating because we're actually hungry, is a form of entertainment. We eat it because we like the way it tastes, or even just because we're bored. We want something to satisfy that particular one of our senses.I think one of the differences between men & women is that satisfaction women get from the food experience is equal to, or superior to, the satisfaction of the sex experience while men get fat because they'll use food (or alcohol) as an unsatisfying and inferior substitute for the sex experience. One thing that's different, rarely (if ever mentioned) and only obvious if you're pretty damned old. When I was young, back in the 60's & 70s, women were slimmer because the sensual satisfaction they now get from eating they used to get from smoking. Instead of stuffing their faces with bon bons, they'd light up a cigarette. I believe one of the main causes of the obesity epidemic is the fact that people don't smoke any more. No one ever talks about this. I mean ever. So food is not only a substitute for sex, it's also a substitute for nicotine.

@metalhead6526 I was thinking less of social eating, like in a restaurant, than the sort of endless eating which is when people get REALLY fat. Again, I compare it to cigarettes. Younger people (anyone under 40) completely missed the smoking culture that prevailed in the 50's, 60's, 70's. Habitual cigarette smokers would literally smoke all day, lighting up their first cigarette when they woke in the morning and their last just before going to bed. They'd light their next cigarette from the one that was going out, and you were allowed to smoke everywhere, so any work place, any restaurant, any saloon or movie theater or bowling alley, there were no bans on smoking, so you could just keep lighting up. That's how people used to smoke 3-4 packs a day. I knew people, and not a few, who as long as they were awake were never without a cigarette in their mouth. Now people eat that way. Instead of lighting up one cigarette after another, it's Cheetoes and bon bons and mini-Reese's and hard candies, etc. etc., washed down with a 2 liter bottle of some kind of soda. And that's in between sugared up coffee milk shakes, donuts and a double bucket of Popeye's chicken for lunch. It's the constant need to have something stuffed into the mouth, to taste something sweet or salty, to appease the oral cravings. Cigarettes used to fill this need, but now it's a constant stream of sweets, snacks, sugared drinks, all high calories and no nutrition. For women, this is a satisfactory substitute for sex. It isn't for men, but they still resort to it because what else is there?

News flash, switch to a pure carnivore diet and you can eat as much as you want without excess weight. It's the carbs that make you flabby. You can watch videos of a woman at 84 years old age who looks 50 and a 65 year old man who looks 40. The only thing making me look old is the bald spot I've had since age 17. I put on a cap and I look 20 all day at 39. Carnivore is the way to go and new research shows that overall cholesterol isn't harmful. A type of cholesterol is now known to be the cause of all the issues and that can only come from vegetable oil. Aging is reversible. Sugar is the worst.

Since they are calories and calories can only do two things: get used up and burned away, or get stored in the body as energy reserves. Carnivore may make you fuller on less calories but it's not some kind of body hack that you can take advantage of and irregardless of total calories consumed you will still lose weight.
