My grandmother Matilda Kemp Anderson was a lumberjill in Scotland in WWII. Thank you for posting.

How interesting! What a difficult job it must have been. I'm a historian and if you're interested, I'm giving an online talk for National Records Scotland on 7 March that will spend a little time talking about the lumberjills. I'd love to hear more about your grandmother's experiences!

That is wonderful. There is a book on the Lumberjills that explains it, I can send you the title. I know my grandparents met at a camp dance during the war, and then she emigrated to Newfoundland to be with him. @@mmoffski

Cleaning out certain trees allows new trees to grow and lets the existing trees grow even better. Felling trees the right way. What if for every tree cut two were planted would you be okay with that? And why do u hate it did your childhood town get clearcut or something happen when u were young, or is it the thoughts about it that make u hate it
