I have owned at least 150 fragrances in my life time and Creed Aventus is by far far far my most complimented fragrance, all by women except on one occasion. I do have to say that I have always had Aventus in my collection which started with me preordering the 2010 even before it was released. The batch that gave me the greatest number of compliments was the 2010 batch which got me multiple compliments EVERY single day I wore it so much that it got embarrassing. The one that gave me the least amount of compliments (and my least worn) is the 2017 batch.

The trick to Layton in the summer is it’s projection. It’s a good 30ft in the breeze and it’s literally intoxicating to people. 10x better in the air than on skin or on paper.

Legend and Fierce have differences, sure. But you can’t deny that they smell similar. Legend smells like a slightly more mature version of Fierce to me.

@@kaiser2k6 I have both Dua and Abercrombie fierce. Dua lasts longer but after several months it developed a strange chemical smell in the opening that I don’t like. It goes away in the dry down, but I find myself enjoying the original more. I have not tried the “fierce attar” by dua but some people find that to be better. Parfums Vintage now has a fierce clone called Incipient that I’ve been wanting to smell. Percival is great, but I can’t justify spending that much on that kind of DNA. I grew up wearing fierce and so it’s very nostalgic for me and still one of my favorite scents.

My choice is, #Fierce on my clothes and Fierceattar on my skin. The opening of OG from A&F is to alcoholic tbh, and doesn‘t last long, no worth it for me.

Memories from the time when these fragrances from the video didn't exist or even the hype fragrance of the time when they were younger could make them like more other fragrances today than the ones younger people from nowadays like. You could’ve switched the order with everyone and also, smelling perfume on a piece of paper is NOT the same as skin at all. Some fragrances are not nice to smell straight on where you sprayed, it’s about how they smell when it projects and the silage it leaves behind. Baccarat rouge did not get its popularity by people smelling it from a piece of paper lmao, it’s also the #1 cloned fragrance in the world. Personally I don’t like it cuz I go anosmic to it so I don’t smell the truth about it but the volume spoke and it’s clearly known for a reason.

There is stereotype that Aventus is complimented mostly by men, but it seems not to be true. Despite numerous controversies regarding batche variations and price, the fact is that it smells really avesome. The 2022 batch is extremely fresh and fruity. Longevity is 8 - 9 hours. Ptojection is moderate.

@@JSn00py it depends. There is a psychological factor. When you buy luxury goods, incluing niche fragrances, you pay for emotions. Fragrance may not be worth 400$ but that "real deal feeling" may be for some people. Knowing that you smell real Aventus, you feel better and more confident.

I’m fascinated with reactions based on the format, for instance the 2nd girl usually likes her .5 more. The girls kind of react off each other, there’s a sense they’re trying to come to a mutual understanding.. just fascinating social psychology. I’m curious if they knew the price first if that would effect their scoring. Scents are about psychology, both personal and social and these experiments are incredible.

i wear aventus and green irish tweed... i have tried clones of both as well. The clones are not as good, i even did blind testing with my family, and they all picked the originals. most common nock on the clones was that they had a "chemical" or "medical" component of their smell. The originals smell all natural. love your videos.

I bought an Aventus 3 years ago and it smelled amazing and natural as you are saying. Two years ago I bought another one but it smelled worse. I have both bottles(empty) now and when I try to smell them, the first one I bought smells amazing. I guess they are now selling these "chemical/medical" bottles as originals which is very bad. :/

In my experience clones are rarely better than the original. The appeal comes from getting 85% of the original vibes for 1/10 of the price. I usually wear clones at home and work, and save my expensive frags for important events. Of course not everybody has my limited budget tho

Cedrat Boise has been a favourite of mine for some years now. However the initial spray is very harsh but from afar it’s magic. The only one that compares with CB is Signature by Baldessarini. It has also that harsh opening but the dry down is amazing. To me more CB than Aventus and even cheaper that CB.

Curly, you totally nailed it with this video. One of the big take-away messages is that we "fragrance enthusiasts" may really enjoy, appreciate, and value some of these niche fragrances, but the regular everyday people around us couldn't care less about most of these $300-$400 niche fragrances. I find the same thing - I wear a $250 or $400 fragrance and nobody really comments on it, but I dumb-grab Sauvage and right away people are saying, "Ooooo! What *IS* that you are wearing? That smells sexy!?" All I can do is shake my head because it's the same thing they commented on a couple weeks ago when I wore it - but the thing is, there are Compliment Getters, and there are all the others. We fragrance enthusiasts may absolutely adore a well crafted niche fragrance, but the average person responds to something more primal... and that is the reason that industry leading fragrances like Dior Sauvage keep selling like crazy.

I have all 4. Mancera would be my last choice. 1st would probably be A toss up between Aventus, or Layton. I had no problem spending the price I did on the fragrances. The Creed, or PDM quality is unmatched by any other brand. Baccarat takes a confident man to wear. To me, it leans feminine. But I’ll still rock that scent.

Watching these videos, I've come to the conclusion that the person wearing them, their looks, personality, humor, style have a lot to contribute while the scent they are wearing is to enhance these traits.. that being said you should grab a few male models who match up with these scents and parade them around with you to get real honest reactions from the ladies. Just an idea.

Al haramain Amber oud Rouge is a great clone of Baccarat rouge the extrait de Parfum version which smells better. Also I'm sure Layton would win against this lineup had it been a slightly more mature sample size with the women who participated.

I've got Layton and if sprayed 10 times it can just kill someone indoors. It's heavy. I'd say up to 3 sprays is a safe choice.

I have 3 of these 4. Creed Aventus has garnered more compliments than the other 2 combined. Not close really. And up close isn’t where Aventus shines…it’s in the scent trail and sillage. I think as influencers we should encourage people to buy quality. Aventus can be purchased from discounters for around $300 and is full of natural high quality ingredients. “Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten”

A battle between Mugler Cologne (RIP) and Creed's Original Vetiver would be interesting. Today I smelled the latter for the first time, did not like it. Quite a rough laundry blue bar soap smell. On skin it is slightly better than on paper, but still. To my nose nowhere near as pleasant or refined as Mugler Cologne.

The thing with fragrances is the younger you are the more sweet you like and the more citrusy fresh scents. Once you hit your 30s you start going more into the woody, ambery, darker scents.

People should remember that affordability whether rich or average earning is highly dependent on our priorities. Some people prioritize the small things because they are not small to them. So if they can by it and it not affect them to any detriment it is absolutely worth it.

Dear Curly Creed Aventus was heavenly and beyond perfumery competition but only in its first year that came in (2010), I still remember I bought my first full bottle and I had never smelled such a masterpiece in life but then they changed a bit in 2011 then in 2012 somehow but yet it had that beautiful smell but in 2013 they completely destroyed it by changing its formula and since then (from 2013 and beyond) I stoped buying creed Aventus despite that I check it every year when any new batch comes in market just with the hope if they would bring back that original old formula or masterpiece. Same is the story with Mancera Cedrat Boise as it used to be really good and good smelling like creed Aventus old on but 4 years ago they changed the formula and fucked it up and it does not smell good anymore like that old batch (4 yrs back and older) … so far baccarat 540 and PDM Layton is concerned, I never liked them both since they don’t have any attraction for me at all … Creed and Mancera need to bring back their old formula otherwise no more creed or Mancera. I am one of the disappointed customers for the last 12 years from creed and 4 years from Mancera, and will continue my realistic protest until they bring back the old formulas …

The thing about fragrances is that environment and many factors matter. This is why choosing fragrances for season and occasion is an art in itself. Aventus in the middle of summer? No. Aventus with a leather jacket at night in the fall? A bit different right?

No surprise here. Aventus still vibes hard with the ladies despite that ridiculous price-tag. If you're only dropping boxers with that or this dna in general, it's not the fragrance! lol Personally, I really enjoy all of these except Baccarat Rouge. I don't hate it but it doesn't do anything for me personally plus the retail of MFK fragrances is pretty silly. Never pay retail, folks!

I have all of them, and I do agree, to like PDMs you have to adapt your nose to it. Layton gives the wrong impressions at the beginning, but when it dries is beautiful.

Hi, Cedrat Boise has been a favourite of mine for years but now there is Intense version which is definitelly better. Baccarat It is a wonderful fragrance that develops its possibilities only on the skin. It smells different on a woman than it does on a man, so the test was doomed to fail. The fragrance identical to Baccarat is Tiziana Terenzi Spirito Fiorentino
