I didn't know there were only 2 players in beach. I play indoor so it's 6. I guess it makes sense as beach volleyball is much harder, it gives the opposing team a better shot

tessa tomlinson I play club rec and sand volleyball and it is 6 players for all of them but we usually have players missing in sand so it is like 4 or 5

Okay so I've always wondered how the outdoor volleyball works during the day in hot places. Do they like cool the sand in the Olympics or something because whenever I walk on the sand at the beach trying to play volleyball my feet feel like the skin is burning off

Why are the jump serves so much different in sand? I play indoor and we all scoot back so far for our approaches.

aysmmetricalcircle it's harder to run in sand, so you won't get the same approach and power needed for indoor jumps serves

What? Beach volleyball is played with two people on each side, even on the college level. I used to tutor the beach volleyball players for LSU--there's a reason that they are all tall, long Amazon women. It's because they have to be fast enough and have the armspan to cover their entire side. It's what makes the sport exciting. A third person would get in the way.

hi! i play indoor volleyball and i didnt see them ( the players in the video ) setting it. is that not a passable contact in beach?

Overhead setting is called MUCH tighter with double contacts on the beach. Slightest rotation of the ball could cause fault. It's so much harder to control a good set with wind blowing and sun in your eyes. So many players stray away from it.
