Coco's 1st run (82.66) was better than Miyu's (84.00) and arguably better than Chloe's (87.33). Liz's 2nd run (83.00) was better than Miyu's 1st run (84.00) and, I think, was similar to Coco's and Chloe's 1st runs. I believe Coco or Liz should have won, Chloe 3rd.

Agreed. Miyo was over scored too. She shreds, but even she was baffled by her score.

Coco scored only 2 points more than Ibuki even though she did the same flip board but also did nose slide bigspin, Smith back 180 etc CLEARLY a large step up to Ibukis run. Miyu then scores another two whole points above with no flip board, no bigspin board and pretty safe tricks for her. Literally made no sense at all. Then Chloe gets MASSIVELY over scored for her safety run. Cocos first run was miles better but like 5 full points between them. Worst judging I've ever seen in a contest tbh. X games has better courses than SLS/World Skate but the judging/commentators really let it down massively.

What are the judges smoking? Ibuki did a flip front board down the big set and another flip board to fakie and only scored 3.5ish points more than aois first run which had no flips to grinds and was pretty safe for Aoi. Like, c'mon. Judging here is terrible

skating switch is not “innovating”. Is it harder? Yes. But would you rather watch a basic trick done with switch stance, or a gnarly high level trick done with style? Coco and Liz should have won for days

Chlo's flip down the stairs was good, don't get me wrong, but that was kind of all she did in her run, she didn't flip or shove in or out of any grinds, her switch flip and nollie flip were essentially flat ground tricks, Coco flipped and shoved in and out of big rails and ledges, and Liz got a 270 switch board down the big set which is arguably better than a straight kickflip no? Really poor judging, Coco should have got at least an 88/89, I think Liz was very close to that score Chlo had some impact which I guess is what the judges wanted to see but tech into big rails is better and more things can go wrong, if this was the men's competition the scoring would be very different.

Love when commentators go a whole run without actually commenting on the run on calling any tricks. Just repeating “the progression”, “the camaraderie”, “can’t believe she is only … years old”. 😒

This is elite women's skateboarding. Only a couple notables were missing from this and they aren't any older. As for why the women's side trended in this direction is up to you to speculate. But make no mistake about it these are the best the world has to offer in the event right now.
