Women's Undercut style - double side shave.
Today I'm sharing my current undercut hairstyle which has both sides shaved- almost like a wide mohawk. I call this the double side shave undercut. It's an awesome style for women because you can wear your hair up and show off your shaved sides but also wear your hair down and nobody will know it's there. For the women with really thick hair shaving an undercut is a great way to get rid of some of the density of your hair while maintaining your long length, which is a total bonus. I recommend this style for any woman (or man) who wants to reduce the amount of hair they have, try out a new fun hairstyle, or who just loves an undercut.
To get this specific undercut style I shaved both sides as symmetrically as possible starting up by my bangs and angling down with a soft arcing slope towards the nape of my neck where the two sides meet. This creates a great look for your hairstyle as a whole because the undercut shapes our your head in a nice way, makes your neck look longer, and gives a soft roundness to the entire style.
You should pin up the hair you don't want cut before you attempt shaving it to make sure the sides are equal and to double check the symmetry. You can check the symmetry of your planned undercut by finding points by the ears, hairline, and face and measuring the widths of the areas with your fingers. It's important to have the sides shaved the same because the further off your lines are, the less professional it will look in the end. Makes sure the lines of your undercut are straight!
Undercuts can be shaved to however short you want by in my opinion it should be taken down to at least a number 2, or shorter. The shorter you go the more dynamic the result. These days, I love a zero shave but in this tutorial my hair is a little longer, around a 2 I'd say.
Thanks for stopping by today, I really appreciate your support. Please let me know what you think of my double side shaved undercut, SUBSCRIBE, and come back next week to see what I've got going on with my hair.
