The first woman is Annemiek van Vleuten, she actually broke her spine, so it was a good decision not to move her. Supposedly the fracture wasn't severe, she's fine now.

There is not much he can do. Flipping her over is not a good idea as she might have suffered spinal injuries. It appears he tried to make verbal contact but she was unresponsive to him.

Entirely unacceptable. No professional sport should ever have medical help take that long to arrive on scene. Those extra few minutes could mean life or death, especially in such a serious accident.

It is not recommended to move the victim in accidents where the spine may have been affected, it may make the injury even worse.

@TriAzF3 жыл бұрын
It’s was actually more safe that way. If it’s a back or neck injury than moving her could have easily killed her and been more dangerous than leaving her until they got the necessary equipment. Dealing with spine injuries is extremely dangerous and fragile.

Muff Chuff So you see someone with spinal injuries and like the jerk that you are,take out your camera to film a paralyzed body?
@emp86536 жыл бұрын
He clearly already had the camera out to film the race. This first thing to come to his head wouldn't have been to turn off the camera. He went straight to her, called to see if she was conscious and then called for help (which he then waited for). He turned the camera off the minute he knew there were people attending to her. He did absolutely nothing wrong.

The very first film clip a woman lies unconscious in the road and all they can do is video it.. what absolute scum...should be charged with attempted murder.
@kaili20806 жыл бұрын
Sarcia Grajek there wasn't anything he could do she had a spine injury. If he tried to move her it could have worsened the injury and could have possibly killed her. For the situation not touching her and screaming for help was the best he could do.
@sarciagrajek39396 жыл бұрын
Incorrect any first aider will tell you not to move the casulaty if a neck or spinal injury is suspected...unless the airway is closed... which will give them brain damage in less than 3 minutes and death in 10. But even if you don't have any first aid knoweledge how about talking to the casualty to say listen an ambulance is on its way and youre going to be ok... holding their hand and showing some humanity so they're not alone..... There is absolutley no excuse for leaving someone severely injured while you film them...
@kaili20806 жыл бұрын
Yes but in the video the guy told him to get back and move away from her do I think he should have kept recording no, but other than that keeping his distance and trying to get help was the safest thing to do.
@sarciagrajek39396 жыл бұрын
Ok, but three things, the accident happened and his response was to get closer to get a better picture, not to put his camera down and see if she was ok...... i expect he asked him to move because he was filming and and not helping... lastly if i was helping someone the only person who would get me to move is a first aider, doctor or paramedic... certainly not a race official or some guy who was passing on his motorbike.....who again did nothing to help... I'm sorry there is nothing you can say that will change my mind.. As someone who spent 33 years in the emergency services I know from experience a huge amount of help can be given just by talking to them... letting them know theyre not alone and that helps on its way....
