When I was fifteen, I stayed at a hospital for a major operation in my spine. I had several tests done on me. I asked the doctor if he had found any anomalies in my brain and he said it would take him forever to sit down and explain the anomalies in my brain. That was in 1996. Ten years after that, I got diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. I am on medication, so don't tell me mental illness isn't real. This man needs to stop doing meth.

This individual is so confusing. He likes Andrew Tate, thinks he's correct and thinks women should "know their place" and "men should be stoic" and gender stereotypes are good and mental illness is bullshit and it's all feminism's fault... But then he goes off about how we can all heal ourselfes with meditation and charkra alignments and that how beautiful it is how we came to be and dark and positive energy and spirituality, higher conciousness... If you didn't hear him talk about all this alpha male shit before, you'd think this guy is just experimenting with wacky/scary subjects that most people simply brush off as crazy because "science says so", instead of actually trying to make their own experiences and opening yourself to something that challenges your world view, which is something that can be very rewarding. It's so sad he buys into this alpha male shit... Whatever, I hope he finds peace within himself and the universe some day without hurting others and putting people in boxes...

Admittedly, I almost complete fell down the Red Pill rabbit hole about a year ago. Hunter’s arguments against was part of the reason I was able to escape. What makes RP content so potentially dangerous is that it can be used as a weapon. Yes, RP does raise good arguments and advocacy for mens issues. But relentlessly bashing on women isn’t going to help any of the depressed males in this country. Take it from me, as someone who almost succumbed to inceldom, DO NOT obsess over girlfriends, relationships or s3x. Instead, focus on your purpose in life, and you’ll be much happier. 8:00 Yes, Romans did talk about mental issues like anxiety. They believe that mental illness was a form of divine punishment. They even had remedies meant to treat it though those were rooted in religion/magic. Romans not only acknowledged mental health, they were one of the first societies to make the connection between mental health and physical health and view mental illness as actual medical conditions. Every single time one of these idiots invokes Ancient Rome, they never have a clue as to what they're talking about. Every. Single. Time. None of this information is difficult to find either.

YES! They had treatment for anxiety disorders that's similar to modern cognitive behavioral therapy, and it was a legit diagnosable medical condition. They recognized depression, hypochondriasis, bipolar disorder, dysthymia, seasonal affective disorder, Tourette's, dyslexia, schizophrenia, PTSD, eating disorders, BPD, etc. They even used lithium to medicate for mood disorders. I think it's so weird that whenever these dudes bring up ancient Rome, they only talk surface level about manly man culture and war, but completely neglect roman physicians and philosophers. And don't even get me started on these militant alpha males and the red pill obsession with Sparta. Spartan soldier culture was gay as hell. Psychedelics and esoteric spiritual practices tend to magnify what's already there inside a person, and sometimes it turns out like this, unfortunately. Seeing a therapist has never worked for me, but I'd never apply my own personal experiences as some kind of blanket rule for every person ever, especially when it seems like therapy genuinely helps a whole lot of people. Also, whether or not a person can "see" my anxiety doesn't change the fact that I feel it literally, physically burning inside me.

A lot of people say that the redpill stuff harms women, but the most harm the redpill community does is to its own followers who listen to the advice and shape their world around it. Most people outside of that community will be fine and just ignore it all, but those that follow their advice could end up being miserable, lonely people that could end up messing themselves up. Do you know how harmful the idea of mental illness being fake and that it is something you can just fight through with no help or therapy is? Think about the young guy that listens to that and thinks they can just get over their brain structure changing which is leading to depression or schizophrenia. This kind of belief contributes to more suicide in males.

12-17 yo soldiers in training were actually expected to take a male mentor that was also a 'lover'. Girls also had similar expectations in (female) academic mentorships. There's a famous Spartan lesbian love sonnet written by Alkman, and an infamous event where a Spartan king was publicly mocked and called a coward by his peers for denying the kiss of a "beautiful young boy" Why the fuck do these alpha red pill bros keep idealizing Spartans as if they, in any way, align with their beliefs?

Omg end of the convo reminded me of a story I wrote when I was like 12, the premise of the story was that dreams are connections to other realms/dimensions, and all of the dimensions are equally real, but can only be traversed through dreams. If I’m remembering correctly I think the main plot was a girl, the main character kept dreaming about this girl all the time and eventually followed her, but it turned out she was actually born in this dream realm, but was kidnapped/“illegally adopted” by who she knows as her parents, and her dream realm/real parents were trying to get her back, and the girl she kept seeing in her dreams was her older sister trying to bring her home. Now of course, even as a 12 year old I knew all of that was pure fiction that I’d made up. Didn’t believe it then, and I certainly don’t believe it now, but it is a cool concept to think about for fun/fictional purposes. I might re-write that story I wrote as a kid, or repurpose the general concept.

i felt the same way as this guy. grew up christian, turned atheist in my teens and through psychedelic experiences brought me back to spirituality but i was always willing to accept that some things we just cannot know, instead of being so sure of my atheism as a young teenager. there is something there but we have yet to scientifically explain it. mushrooms, LSD, and DMT show us more of reality than our sober consciousness can, and we will be able to explain these things through science eventually.

As someone who goes through depression I honestly gotta say it hurts to see young people being brainwashed into this BS cult. I was brought up this same way not by taint or fresh and fit but by my family which pushed the whole “man up” agenda on me and my siblings now we are all a mess. However on the other hand I can kinda relate to them, without their macho and self destructive behavior what more do they have? It’s like an addiction, deep down you know it’s destroying you but it doesn’t hurt as much as having no purpose or meaning in life.

wierd how someone who has no idea what hes talking about-wouldnt want to answer a literal SINGLE question....i wonder why??? maybe because it would highlight the fact that you cannot, actually answer simple questions about your own opinions. partly because they arent even your opinions. you listen to pick up artists and fresh and fit, and that makes him FEEL comforted about his own bruised masculinity.

Depression came about because of feminism!?? You do know depression is just the medical term right!? It just wasn't known as depression in ages past especially because mental illnesses we're widely & usually known for those types of individuals who we're labeled insane or demon possessed, witches even, the list goes on & then as depression was studied more in depth medical field wise, finally it was recognized for what it was & given a name but before the word depression was even coined, it was known as melancholy

I find it hilarious that these redpill types always have to jump around to 100 different topics to explain one thing. They cant and wont stay on one topic, because then they would get destroyed, but if they can pull you into their world and you let them run you around and gish-gallop they can make anything they say sound correct. I have a friend who uses the same tactic when we discuss things. I have to constantly pull him back to the original topic and usually he can't connect the dots the way he wants to when I do that. He will usually retreat back to some sort of "Well, it's obvious" statement. Really frustrating, but also pretty funny if you know how to handle that type of discussion.

I would like to mention that bottling up emotions is NOT GOING TO MAKE YOU MANLY. Being in touch with your emotions and wanting to understand and be a good person IS what being a MAN is. Movies wise since I like talking about it, you can see the emotions Mr. Incredible exhibits through both Incredibles 1 and 2, his wife still loves him and teases him, and he can go into a rampage due to lack of sleep (if you know what scene I'm talking about) and his kids will comfort him. Men are naturally better at having emotional maturity, just like how women are more mentally mature.

Humans have been researching consciousness for thousands of years, but it is so complexof a thing that, even with all of that research, we still don't fully understand it. And the brain split was used to treat epilepsy. There was something called the split brain experiment, where we found out that, what happens when you split the brain is your left and right brain can't communicate with each other. I recommend looking up the experiment, it is quite interesting. But it's a myth, that you end up with two different personalities when you split the brain.
