I was really disappointed with the interview Page Alms gave, she was whining about the Eddie having a day for just the women.... Got to realize it's such an honor for the women who were invited to be included , the format is perfect as is. I mean she showed her bummer side during the most prestigious contest ever, and definitely underperformed. Wa wa

I mean, i could maybe entertain that thought if the eddie was guaranteed each year. But it takes so many things to come together that we only get one every 5 years on average. So gotta run it all at once.

@OffDaLip I think all the invitees all should surf together no matter man or woman, no segregated event for this contest. Too bad Keala is not healthy and had to give up her spot... I'd put Justine up there with her but will there ever be anyone as gnarly as her. My old gf in Hanalei was close w the Kennely ohana, Keala was just as gnarly back then . There would be no way to have two separate events, and there's no lack of opportunity for the women when the surf gets that big

Some of the drops and rides in the beginning are as good or better than the men's waves I saw. Rockin'!!!

@@jojofandango7344 Get your eyes checked. There were a couple of rides by the ladies, but only a couple. The way people gushed over every drop on the shoulder, and if they actually make it to the open face it was as if Eddie himself was up and riding. They need their own events/heats. At all of the NS contests now that they got to include women in everything the local boys and touring pros are forced to see so many insane waves go empty when the women are out there. Check wave count totals. Especially at Pipe during 4 person heats. The guys are catching a huge factor more than the women. Just facts. i'm glad they're getting oppurtunities and a few of them pull off some bad ass rides/manuevers that most WSL men wouldn't mind in their reel. I just don't dig the PC forced narrative that they are equals as far as basic human biology is concerned when talking athletic power and speed. Keep them in seperate categories and don't compare them. I love the grace and power Carissa, Caity, and a few others bring . And there are a lot of poised, athletic, and extremely graceful women long boarders I find mesmerizing. Not a hater, just can't stand corp/gov forced compliance on speech and thought.
