Well, it didn't wipe out anything, the Monolyth is just an illusion, it doesn't have that kind of power. It just locked Strelok inside his head, in real world he was probably zombified.
@generalrubbish95139 ай бұрын
@@cinnamontoast1586 Same, honestly. The money requirement for the "I want to be rich" ending is way too low, it's actually pretty easy to accumulate 50,000 RU throughout a normal playthrough even if you aren't actively trying to. Part of it could be because the game is quite generous with the loot between the stashes and the corpses of all the people you kill. I always played on Veteran difficulty (largely because of the misinfo about weapon damage), yet I don't remember ever really having to buy medkits, bandages, anti-rads or food, in fact I always had too much of them and had to leave them behind in stashes so I wouldn't be constantly overloaded. Guns and ammo are similarly easy to come by unless you're looking for something specific, and even armor can be easily obtained for free if you know where to look. So you end up in this endless feedback loop of collecting shit because you might need it later, then selling it to make space, then collecting more shit while the money just kinda sits in your pocket because you hardly ever need to BUY anything with all this loot you're always hauling around. What makes it even worse is that you don't even have to have 50,000 on your person when you make your wish, you only need to hit that number ONCE in your playthrough and it trips the flag. Which, by the way, also overrides any other ending, even if you complete the requirements for it (have max/min reputation, kill the leaders of both Duty and Freedom, etc). As a result, I had no idea there were other Wish Granter endings besides "I want to be rich" until I read the wiki.

Some tips for unmodded STALKER that would make things significantly less painful: AP rounds tear through armor, and the armor an enemy has is tied to the character model they have. The models have the same armor values as what you have if you are wearing that armor. You don't 'need' to use AP unless you're fighting Monolith, military stalkers, Duty, or exoskeletons of any faction. AP 9x39 SP-6 (black stripe box) drops exo's in 3-5 round bursts, while SP-5 (orange stripe) and AP 5.56 are not far behind. Limbs take less damage than torso hits, while headshots deal so much bonus damage that even exoskeletons can be killed with trash guns and trash ammo quickly. The 9x18/19 and 5.45 early game is significantly easier if you get good at headshots. Mutants do not have armor values so AP is always wasted on them. Mutants can also be headshot. For 'optimal' play, shotguns are for mutants, rifles are for people. Using shotguns on humans beyond low armor bandits is undesirable. Upgraded shotguns in Call of Pripyat fare much better, but are still not great. Guns in the sequels are atrocious without upgrades. In unmodded Clear Sky, you can actually upgrade some guns so far with recoil reduction mods that the recoil rolls over and they start recoiling downwards. Also in Clear Sky, pistol and shotgun rounds disappear within 30-50 feet so you are forced into extremely close combat until you get an AK. shooting from end to end of a clearing in the swamp isn't even possible with them without a mod to fix the game. Also Clear Sky is just a broken game. Durability bars are misleading. Warsaw pact guns jam less frequently until their bar gets pretty low, while NATO guns start to jam frequently as soon as the bar hits like 75%. The crosshairs (that you turned off) are pretty accurate to bullet spread, so you may notice (if you turn them back on) that hipfiring is far easier than actually aiming when going for bodyshots. Spread bloom from hipfire is minimal so there really isn't much of a penalty, and you get to skip the visual recoil. Also, the ironsights are misaligned on some guns. Artifacts are the key to money, always. You can sell off every gun you come across, but that is a painful use of your time. Artifacts are also the key to not dying in one hit. In SoC, if you find the various mamma's beads that give +5% bullet resist, you can tank shots easily during the end of the game instead of dying instantly every time you walk around a corner. The artifact names get shuffled around in the sequels, but same same. Bleed reduction artifacts are also great because you can just ignore bandages and only carry medkits. Health regen artifacts are kind of trash, honestly. .45 ACP weighs too much. Just use a 9x19 handgun. Or don't carry a pistol at all. In the sequels you can carry two primaries at once, making sidearms significantly less necessary. You should play STALKER Anomaly after finishing the original games.

My favorite thing about channels like Civvie's, are that I feel a sense of real lore develop with every video he drops. Like each game he plays has a significant connection to that specific point in time of his, and by extension, our lives. Its the sort of connection with Creator and Observer that old Television would accomplish with a well written narrative that was fake on every level. The way Civvie tells of reaching the Monolith, I feel like I've just watched the latest Samurai anime and it hit too close to home. That's special. That's beautiful.

@rookiecf3399 Жыл бұрын
@@JetsetlemmingI replay SoC vanilla on master all the time, the issue here is that unless you’re only using AP rounds, 5.56 guns (except Sniper TRS) become basically useless in the endgame as they dont have enough power to reliably one headshot kill late game monolith. 9x39 guns such as VLA, Vintar and Tunder are much more powerful and effective against heavily armored monolith.

Civvie not looking at the stats of stuff and constatly using shitty weapons and guns is killing me The AS Val is a one hit kill machine, so is the Groza, or anything in 9x39. The G3 is also amazing, so is the FN2000 the best gun in the game. Oh, and the armor Civvie is using? The "scientist suit" that is only good against... anomalies, and not bullets? Optimally by the Red forest you should of had a SEVA suit with the fancy night vision.

I actually love gunplay in stalker, as janky as it is. The spread is sometimes unfair, but once you get used to it, it gets very satisfying. I remember putting a scope on ak74 and using it in single shots, turning it into a pretty good early marksman rifle. And then i get vintorez, and thats where real fun begins.
@eugenedmarchenko Жыл бұрын
The gunplay in Stalker is really cool because every gun feels and handles differently, so you can learn each weapons quirks and love them. It's Abakan's jumping recoil, Vintarez's zigzags, TRc's nervous dancing, etc., etc

13:48 Mutants show the status of the last human NPC. So the last NPC you interacted with was friendly, so the mutant corpse says friendly. It's weird but also adds a layer of atmosphere to the game, to imagine mutants that "like you" still attacking you anyway. There's probably some existentialist commentary in there somewhere

Civvie made the game hard himself. The yellow artifact which grants "health" and lowers all resistances does not in fact give you health, but hp regen, very very small hp regen. So he basically killed his armor bullet resistance for nothing, this is why the game was so hard for him.
