Many years ago, on our first trip to Germany, we took the train from Zurich to Innsbruck. Having purchased our Eurail passes in the States, the only ticket we could buy was first class. Each time the train stopped the conductor came through the car and handed out Kit Kat bars and a box of orange juice. By the time we got to Innsbruck we had a backpack full of them. They sure came in handy later as we had a fast schedule and would sometimes just eat a couple rather than stop at a restaurant for a full meal, allowing us to see and do more with the time saved.

I know that various factories have been in operation for many years but I am always in awe of the creativity, vision, and engineering feat for these factories. Especially now adays with everything being factory produced. Years ago I made the pizza dough fresh every morning (Dough Master) at a local pizza store for a national chain. Well no more made fresh dough at the neighborhood location, the dough comes frozen on the delivery truck all they do is put the toppings on and bake.

I used to live near the City of York in England where the Rowntree factory was located that made the original Kit Kat. The streets near the factory smelled of chocolate all the time. In fact my father used to grow sugar beet as he was a farmer and the sugar produced from his beet went straight into Kit Kats.

Was this the kit kat factory in York? My uncle used to work there a long time ago. When he came visiting i remember crates of kit kats that lasted all year. One of britains best confection inventions. These and skittles/starburst (formally opal fruits.) Skittles are actually little balls of starburst with a coloured sugar shell on the outside. Genius, selling the same product 2 times over!

Fun Fact: The "waffles" inside the KitKat is actually crushed up KitKats with sugar. Some KitKats break while being made. So instead of throwing it, they do this.

I like how when the KitKat scene begins, they filmed the truck pulling up and emptying the material as if it is a Criminal Investigation movie. They put a song that they use in Mafia or Criminal Investigation movies, when they show the scene of how the members are creating substances that destroy/clean trace or kill. Yes people, these foods are the slow killers of you, wonderful people. It slowly kills the Brain and puts it to sleep. When you find a Roman man's jaw from the ancient ruins, you will see no cavity, no plaque, or any other factory-made garbage, because it was kept well and whatever they consumed was consumed properly. Take care of yourself but yes, sometimes enjoy. Just don't be a slave of the their food. Stay healthy.
