You can put the GPS antenna in the dash above the head unit. I did that on my 2021 RAV4 & it works fine & makes for a much cleaner install. Nice head unit, I fitted an Ezonetronics 9 inch unit in mine works very well. I got wireless Android Auto by installing 2 apps called Head Unit Reloaded to the head unit & WIFI Launcher on my mobile. :)

Thanks for your suggestion, Mohammed! I did try to have the GPS antenna under the dashboard above the HU but the signal was very weak. So that’s why I had it on the windshield instead.

Great video. mine is 2012 with pioneer unit + GPS and back camera in place. Just wondering if the android stereo will work with my GPS and back camera when i swap to android stereo or will i have to run and install the GPS and camera that came with the android stereo.

Backup camera will still work with special hookup (unless you already have backup camera RCA cable to your pioneer). GPS will be ready on the new Android HU via Waze or Google map apps or via your smartphone GPS.

All needed cables came with the HU from the seller (link in the video description). You may need to get specific cable for your HU. Contact the seller whom you bought the HU from for correct cable. Yes, steering controls can be programmed and functional with the included cable set. No can-bus module required unless your vehicle has the JBL Amp. system.

Nice video buddy I have the same car but the three wires that comes out from the original radio one of them is blue and I cannot find any additional wire to buy. I buy several wires on Amazon. None of them fits any advice. I bought three aftermarket radio now in several different wires. Non-fits. The only one that fits is the power card.

Hmm! I am not sure where you got your HU from. Usually there’s a specific wire harness for specific HU and for your specific vehicle. So you should buy the wire harness from the same seller that you buy the HU from. That way it will guarantee that the HU will work for your car.

At least that’s what I thought when you buy a specific device for a specific vehicle it should come with a specific wire for a vehicle but like I said, it’s three different device and none of them seems to have the right wire far far as I could tell it’s for the basic 2009 RAV4 I bought several different type of wires that says it’s for my specific vehicle but yet still it does not have the 20 pin

It is a 9 inch. It’s a perfect size and fits nicely for 2005 - 2013 RAV4s.

@@allbrant Go to Factory Setting (Pass code: 126 (on mine unit) ->’other’ then check to make sure your‘Steering wheel keys assign’ setting = “SWC Key”. If not change it by tapping on the arrow down to select ‘SWC Key’. I hope that helps. That’s what I have on mine and all the steering wheel buttons work.
