It MIGHT be because this was based on a comic book series by the same name and they might have copied the art style of the original artist. That's just my guess on the matter, and it may or may not be true.

I think they just wanted to try something different. They were losing interest in making the new 52 movies, so maybe they just wanted to experiment with this one a bit more before they did apocalypse war and moved on to their new universe.

The Voldemort girl is Dr. Poison she was in the first Gal Gadot Wonder Woman movie with the partially burnt face. Then the giant girl is Giganta. There is also a villain named Circe with dark magical powers.

I’ve always loved stories connected to the Greek Gods and Goddesses. I think I have the old Hercules and Xena shows to thank for that. Wonder Woman takes that love and turns it up several notches, because I’ve also always had a great love for superheroes growing up as well. Of the big three, my interest in her is almost as high as Superman.

You see Superman and Batman villains do team ups all the time but not so much with Wonder Woman. Probably because two of her main enemies are Ares and Hades and they're too powerful to lower themselves to 'team up' with anyone. Speaking of, Wonder Woman 2009 is worth a watch.

I think you should watch the 2009 Wonder Woman animated movie. I loved that origin story. Steve is voiced by Nathan Fillion, who usually voices Green Lantern(Hal Jordan) in animations, especially this 52 series you're watching😁
