Wonderful Narsaq in Greenland, where I go hiking, visit a potential uranium/REE mine at Kuannersuit mountain and say hello to some friendly cows.
In fact the only cows in whole of Greenland!
My stay was very pleasant, nice temperatures, beautiful scenery and no mosquitoes.

Yup, I was amazed too. But the vikings also did that about 1000years ago, which was one of the reasons they called it Greenland😁

It really is beautiful and if you land in Narsarsuaq, you have pretty decent options with boats, to go from town to town. Or you can take a helicopter, which on a clear day is amazing!

The pile of sand/rocks might be just from road-making remainders😆 I’m not sure. Qassiarsuk approximately is 50 km from Narsaq. The local beer is the BEST! Brewed in Narsaq (QaJaQ), even the water they using is from Narsaq! You’re right, they’re not the best food places in Narsaq, and they’re kinda pricey😬 but I don’t complain when I eat there, not the best, but just-ok places:) They are other cows in some other sheepfarmer places in South Greenland, but not as many as like in Narsaq (different race too, little bigger and calmer). In my opinion, South Greenland is the best place to go, most relaxing.

If you do allow any mining there - put VERY stringent regulations on the corporations doing it, and ensure they will be 150% liable for any damage caused by their operations.

Is this the part of Greenland that gave it its name by Vikings, in your opinion? And perhaps they thought all of Greenland was like this? Very lovely views. I agree with you re: mining. We need the REE's, but it has to be done sustainably with no scarring of the land(scape).
