As an Idaho native, born and raised in Coeur d' Alene, I feel many amazing places in northern Idaho were overlooked in this video. Lewiston, our only port connecting to the pacific ocean on the Clearwater River. Also, the Clearwater river was a part of the historic Lewis & Clark Expedition from 1804 to 1806. The historic Silver Valley including Kellogg and Wallace along with the Coeur d' Alene river belong on this list. The St Joe river with its logging heritage and pristine waters that are home to some of the best fishing in Idaho. Sandpoint on the north shore of Pend Oreille, our largest and deepest lake in the state with a Naval Research station in Bayview. It would be criminal not to mention Priest Lake and Upper Priest Lake with crystal clear waters and stunning views of the surrounding rugged mountains and Chimney Rock.

This is an amazing, stunning video captured with drone videography. Congratulations. SSSSHHHH, don't tell the world that paradise is also found in ID! We don't want everyone rushing into ID! 🤫🤫🤫Come to think of it, there are grizzly and brown bears lurking in every corner in ID. So, don't come rushing into ID!😛The Gem state is soooo under rated! I am in Australia, not ID, the Gem State but I sure wish I live in Idaho 😛😛. Been there many, many times; have friends there. Been rafting on Payette River, Sawtooth Mts, State Capital Building in Boise, Perrine Bridge etc, Shoshone Falls (with lots of water, and when with barely a trickle! 🤣 ) Also stopped at "touristy" Sun Valley, Hailey, Ketchum etc on my roadtrips south ward to CA. Love Twin Falls (I could easily live there 😛), Pocatello, Stanley. Didn't know Ernest Hemingway was buried in Ketchum. ID is a very outdoorsy state. If you like hiking, camping, running, etc then ID is a gem! Did some hiking (friends took me), and did my usual running in my friend's neighborhood (Treasure Valley). My first trip to ID was a winter trip. WOW, LOVE, LOVE LOVE the snow! Yes, we did some limited winter roadtrips - saw the majestic frozen Snake River! Also did lots of walk around downtown Boise. There is an "Egyptian" theater there! Have yet to road trip to Northern ID (Coeur d' Alene, Moscow, Caldwell etc) , and into Canada. The year I was heading up north was a bad year with brush fires. The air was heavy with smoke, and I was forced South, into NV and CA, from Boise.
@PatrickThreewitАй бұрын
I live in Idaho's warmest region. My home is about the same elevation as Boise, but I am in the mountains. My closest town is on the Clearwater River, the largest tributary to the Snake which is also in this region. Lewiston has Idaho's only seaport and the only seaport in the mountain West. Our region doesn't grow like the others because we have no interstate or big airports. In 31 years, I have seen one black bear on my driveway, one wolf 20 miles away on National Forest land, one moose a long time ago walking in a river in our close town, but no grizzlies and when in my younger days, I did a lot of back country hiking. Three years ago I saw 2 cougars walking up my driveway, but no other time. I've seen elk on my land but rarely in the back country. Elk don't like wolves so they stay close to civilization. I see deer every day and I call to them and wave. They look up and go back to eating or just continue to stay laying down and resting. Lots of wild turkeys. In the region I live in is Hells Canyon, and a 56-mile long mountain reservoir backed up by the third highest U.S. Dam. Smoke only becomes a problem when there is a fire downstream on the Clearwater River near Lewiston. And according the the Forest Service most of our climate is influenced by the Pacific Ocean coming up three big rivers. The county I live in has the Clearwater, Salmon, and Snake Rivers. Lately, I have been doing some 2-day car camping and there are some mighty rough roads I take that can even be found within 20 miles of a town of 3,000. I rafted for a bit on the Salmon in the late spring when the water was cold. I've about run out of interesting places to go. Washington is another state that is very interesting. Before moving to Idaho, I lived on one of the San Juan Islands for 25 years, and have gone from there up and down a few times through Alaska and BC's Inside Passage. But the farther one goes up the Snake, the colder it gets. I lived for 2 years, 55 miles southeast of Idaho Falls and we got snow on July 23 and 20 below was a normal winter day.

I'm glad that you skipped the real beauty spot of Idaho. Maybe we won't get any more move-ins. I live 50 miles from the deepest canyon in North America and from the highest peaks in the Idaho Panhandle, and a 40-minute drive from the third highest dam in the U.S. and a 56-mile long reservoir, and 6 miles from the largest tributary of the Snake River, and 35 miles from the River of No Return. In our region we have Idaho's only seaport and we have the mildest climate. So glad I moved here 31 years ago. I also live 30 miles from the largest wilderness areas outside of Alaska. Plus a few hours ago I saw 4 buck white tail deer and a dozen does from my kitchen window. They know me and are not afraid.

@@HeathCliff-bs2vo I don't go into Canada because I don't have a passport, but in the 80's, I lived on an island on the border so I was on Vancouver Island a bit and I went up the ALCAN in '62 and up the Inside Passage to Alaska, so I've seen enough of Canada. The politics is a little rough in North Idaho now so I don't need to go there. That is MAGA country.

Agreed, they forgot the upper half of the state with the exception of a small snippet of video on downtown Bonners Ferry and Deary. Idaho truly is an amazing state with some very amazing places to visit. Do another video from McCall north to the Canadian border and make an improved attempt to capture the beauty of the mountains, the Salmon River, the Clearwater, the Palouse, Moscow, Lewiston, Coeur D’Alene, Sandpoint, Schweitzer Mountain Resort, the Selkirk & Cabinet mountains and less we forget, the beauty of Lake Pend Oreille the 5th deepest lake in the world and the largest lake in Idaho. Ideally, start at the northern border and work your way down to the southern border without jumping around. Do your research on the state, pronounce the words correctly and do not give the viewer a video about a dam and only show a woman walking in a red jacket. You focused a lot on southern and eastern Idaho but forgot Bear Lake as well as all of the agriculture of the region (can you say potatoes, barley, hops, etc).

I have a question regarding the video cover photo, where is the location the photo was taken. It is not covered in the video.

it's Bayhorse Ghost Town

I'd appreciate this if more research and respect for name pronunciations and a few facts were demonstrated. For example, It is not Shoshon E Falls. The "e" at the end is silent. And, it is not pereen bridge it is PerIne -- long "I" . Plus, it is PAY ett Lake, not Pie ett Lake. There are more problems. The video and scenery are very good. But, the narration dampens the production. Is this ai? I ask because AI-generated audio is often full of pronunciation and enunciation errors. I wasn't going to critique this until about the 6th or 7th error.

It's definitely AI narration. This British accent guy is hard to escape on you tube! It'll never be perfect. I wish they'd pay a human to do it. Especially someone who's familiar with the subject.

I had no problems with the video at all because although I do not live in ID, I have been to ID, many, many, many times, and all those featured places bring back memories to me while I am back in Australia.😛
