POW means prisoners of war. The Italians were imprisoned from Somalia. The POWs built the road and when they got in Naivasha they were given poisoned milk by the British. All POWs perished.

Wow I love this but it’s not the oldest Catholic Church in Kenya but Mombasa Catholic Holy Ghost Cathederal is the oldest, built in the year 2023, last year we celebrated Centinary 100yrs. Am a proud Christian coz all this is n was about God🙏🏼

It was built by italians prisoners who comtracted the railway that pass mai mahiu and side of mt longonot and there was a watch alarm which we were told that italians said that the one who will find the watch will be rewarded from Italy, we used to pass there when going to shamba from ngarariga limuru and there was a man who was going there every day with his volkswagen car to find it, if he here it one side it moves to the otherside and after all he was told that alarm was coming from Italy so he gave up, that was where pupils from Limuru area were going after CPE rehearsal day, climbing the tallest timber building the one colonies were climbing to see the one who hides in the forest. We also views a very big stone which sits on a very small one (a fear stone) or in kikuyu(ihiga ria guoya,) there are good history in that area, this small church was known as italians mosque during that time, it was named Catholic Church just the other day.

Well said Rechal the small church was then before known as a mosque. Italians prisoners of war were used by British government to make the road from Nairobi to Nakuru. This was after Adolf Hitiler and Mosolin had been defeated in the 2nd world war.
